Pretty amazing. What do you do to keep it from being completely washed out after seven months?

I used b&w photo paper. It becomes so over exposed that the image is visibly imprinted on the paper. You only need to run it through a flatbed scanner and invert it to get the image.

So wait, it's basically just a pinhole with photo paper behind it? Or am I getting things completely messed up here?

And why seven months? What drove you to do it for that long?

Yes, that's right.

The reason for the 7 month exposure is that the sun leaves trails through the sky as it's position changes from summer to winter. Here ended up all merged together into a single band. Your supposed to have the exposure go from summer to winter solstice, but I choose the dates I did because those were the only times I could make it out there.
