“This wound appears to be healing very well,” Ratchet said as he lays down the medical scanner. “You should be okayed for flight again in a couple of orns.”
“Thank you, Ratchet,” Skyfire answers him while he tentatively flexes the joint where the still tender wound is.
“You’re lucky that wound is healing so well, considering the placement and who caused, it could have been so much worse.” Noticing Skyfire’s flinch that he knows wasn’t from testing the joint, “Sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it,” a distant look comes onto Skyfire’s faceplate. “I understand the sentiment. I may not like it, but I understand it.” Then focusing on Ratchet, “Am I free to go now?”
“Yeah, you’re free to go.” Ratchet went back to working with his tools. “Oh, and Skyfire?” The shuttle paused just inside the door to the medbay. “If you need something, anything at all, my door is open.”
Skyfire turned and gave Ratchet a rather melancholy smile, “I’ll be fine, and-thank you, Ratchet.” With that he continued out of the medbay.
“You’re very welcome, Skyfire.”
