I'm "in-between" series'es. Anyone have a recommendation for a standalone book or even something that might be a fun new series to check out?

The Devil You Know by Mike Carey is pretty good.

I think there may be two more books out for that - Vicious Circle is the second one I'm reading now.

If you like thrillers, try the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson, starting with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

If you like thriller with a strong dose of tech, check out Daemon by Daniel Suarez and its sequel, Freedom.

Both series are quite excellent

I've been thinking about picking up the Millennium Trilogy so I may start with that and go check out Daemon.

Thank you!

It would be easier if I knew what you liked or what you'd read. I'm a huge fan of the Dresden Files. If you like Urban fantasy, I highly recommend.

Have been a fan since they came out myself; and he is part of the reason I am in-between books. I felt like I just about read Changes in one sitting!

Seriously, there were points when I couldn't put it down.

I haven't been able to find a series I like as much, but there are two I've found enjoyable:
Nightlife by Rob Thurman is the first in a series (of 5 so far) about two brothers.

Unshapely Things by Mark Del Franco is another Urban fantasy series, but this time the natural and supernatural are side by side living in not so harmony.
