Neville/Katie

#01 - Walking

Much to Katie’s continual disbelief, Neville would rather walk than fly on what he considers to be a death trap.

#02 - Waltz

Ginny once advised Katie that she had best watch out for her toes when waltzing with Neville Longbottom, as he was not the most graceful of dancers.

#03 - Wishes

Neville once wished for a calm, quiet girlfriend with whom he could talk about Herbology and when the proper time for planting certain types of magnolias were, but over the years he has become very happy that the wish had never been granted.

#04 - Wonder

It is with great wonder to Katie that Neville can stand to be so patient with her, even after she accidentally ruined one of the panes of his greenhouse with an ill-thrown quaffle.

#05 - Worry

It was his worry that Oliver would one day wake up and realize Katie was a rather attractive girl that pushed Neville to become so good in his DA meetings.

#06 - Whimsy

Neville once told Katie of his earlier worries after they were married for which he was awarded a smirk and a very satisfying kiss.

#07 - Waste/Wasteland

After the war much of what was left of Hogwarts could be considered a wasteland, but Neville showed Katie that with a handful of seeds and determination one could make a new life from destruction.

#08 - Whiskey and rum

Katie has drunk Neville under the table with little effort numerous times, but no one is really surprised at this as Neville has always had a weak stomach for alcohol.

#09 - War

The fact that it was Katie’s hand that he grabbed when the announcement of war came didn’t surprise Neville as she was always by his side.

#10 - Weddings

As Neville walked their daughter down the aisle, Katie could not help but remember the girl’s first tentative steps, the two of them cheering her along the entire time.

#11 - Birthday

Katie, as Neville found, is not an early riser, not even on her birthday, not even when she’s soaking wet.

#12 - Blessing

Neville considered it a blessing that his beloved grandmother had lost most of her hearing as she would certainly have had something to say if she could have heard the racket that had been going on in Neville’s childhood bedroom the night before, married or not.

#13 - Bias

”Mum, Neville really is one of the nicest boys I know and I’m not saying that just because I might have a thing for him, so please don’t worry about me so much.”

#14 - Burning

It took exactly one burnt meal for the two of them to decide that from then on Neville would do the cooking.

#15 - Breathing

”Katie, breathe, it’s just Neville Longbottom.”

#16 - Breaking

Neville sometimes has nightmares of Katie being broken as his parents were and often wakens covered in sweat and his arms hugging Katie protectively to himself.

#17 - Belief

Neville finds it to be a rather comforting feeling when he finds himself in the arms of a woman who believes in him at the end of every day.

#18 - Balloon

Despite the fact that her friends had told her that they’d begun to recognize aspects of their fathers in their choice of husbands, Katie never saw any characteristics of her own father in Neville until her 21st birthday where he presented her with a balloon, just as her father had done for her on her eleventh birthday.

#19 - Balcony

Neville dreamed in his fifth year of flying his broom to the balcony of the girl’s dorm, a balcony which did not exist, and taking Katie for a midnight spin, but then realized Katie would probably much rather ride on her own broom.

#20 - Bane

”Neville, the fear of falling is the bane of many a great quidditch player, so I suggest you get rid of it quickly if you’re going to be the greatest Quidditch Keeper Hogwarts has ever seen.”

#21 - Quiet

It is often in the quite of the night, after they’ve made love, that Katie will let just a few tears fall from the sheer beauty of the moment.

#22 - Quirks

Neville often enjoys dancing by himself where no one can see him or at least no one, but Katie.

#23 - Question

Despite the fact that he did pass out, it was without a tremor in his voice that Neville did ask the girl with whom he’d fallen hopelessly in love with to please pass the butter.

#24 - Quarrel

The most infuriating thing about Neville was that he seemed to refuse to raise his voice no matter how long they had been arguing.

#25 - Quitting

It was with fear that Neville realized that Katie Bell, a second year Gryffindor, would never give up on her idea of making him the best Keeper Hogwart’s had ever seen, though he was very much afraid of heights.

#26 - Jump

”Neville, how do you start a conversation about your new species of gardenia and then all of the sudden jump to whether or not I’ll marry y…oh.”

#27 - Jester

”Katie, using Neville to make Oliver jealous is as likely to happen as marrying a court jester to attain the seat of Queen.”

#28 - Jousting

Katie couldn’t understand why Neville would not want to charge at her going full speed on his broomstick, even though she herself would be aiming for him.

#29 - Jewel

The ring had been passed down from the last four generations or at least that’s what Neville’s grandmother had said when she caught Katie examining the jewels in her ring.

#30 - Just

”She’s almost there Katie, just keep breathing.”

#31 - Smirk

Neville decided long ago that Katie’s sexiest facial _expression is the satisfied smirk she gives the losing opponent after a quidditch match.

#32 - Sorrow

While Katie used to claim she was heartbroken that Oliver never returned her feelings, she didn’t ever truly feel heartbreak till she saw Neville Longbottom walking through Hogsmeade with Hannah Abbott.

#33 - Stupidity

Neville was secretly pleased to find that Katie was so bad in Herbology that Professor Sprout had recommended him as her tutor despite the fact that he was in a lower year.

#34 - Serenade

It was much to Neville’s later relief that his roommates were able to talk him out of confessing his feelings to Katie in song during his second year.

#35 - Sarcasm

”Neville of course I’d rather be out there in the hot greenhouse than in bed with you, but I just don’t see how I’d be able to go out there without any clothes on.”

#36 - Sordid

”Neville it’s not sordid and besides, your grandmother is asleep on the other side of the mansion.”

#37 - Soliloquy

It was much to Katie’s embarrassment when she found that she tended to think aloud, no matter who was there and what she was thinking.

#38 - Sojourn

While Katie and Neville’s Grandmother would never have a great relationship, the two did learn to at least respect each other enough that they could be in one another’s company for a short time.

#39 - Share

Katie complained to Neville that she felt old when she had told their daughter earlier in the day that she should learn to share.

#40 - Solitary

Katie has, over many years, slowly come to grips that while Neville loves her very, very much, he likes to spend some time in the greenhouse by himself.

#41 - Nowhere

On mornings when it was raining and dreary there was almost nowhere, save in Neville’s arms in bed, that Katie would rather be than out on the Quidditch Pitch, quaffle in hand, while her husband cheered her on with or without a drying charm.

#42 - Neutral

“Nev I know this might come as a bit of a shock, but do you think we could paint the house in something other than neutral colors, like say orange?”

#43 - Nuance

Neville blushed at their wedding when Katie whispered in his ear that she would have even the smallest details of his body learned by the end of their first year.

#44 - Near

Though Katie had sworn to her friends she would never be the needy one in the relationship, she couldn’t help but feel just the tiniest bit lost if she hadn’t seen or heard from Neville any particular day.

#45 - Natural

It feels like the most natural thing in the world for Katie, a fourth year, to comfort Neville, a third year, after he’d been severely reprimanded by Professor McGonagall for writing down the passwords to their common room.

#46 - Horizon

”Don’t worry Nev there’s more trips to Hogsmeade on the horizon, just you wait.”

#47 - Valiant

It was with great bravery that Neville, a seventh year Gryffindor who lived with his grandmother when not at school, asked a woman one year older than him, and already living on her own, to Hogwart’s Year End Ball.

#48 - Virtuous

”I guess being brave and being good aren’t always the same thing,” Neville told Katie after a once fellow Gryffindor had actually attacked the two of them on the field of battle.

#49 - Victory

Neville once confided to Ron that when he cheered Katie up he felt like he’d won a small war of sorts and wasn’t sure if this could be considered selfish of him or not.

#50 - Defeat

Neville always found Katie after a defeat in quidditch and gave her the biggest hug he could because, even though there were no immediate effects, he liked to think it let her know that he still loved her.
