This is beautifully written. Poetic, but not overdone and very clear.

I also totally know what you mean about "Ah, I can't write this until I figure out how a bunch of stuff about it is going to work!" It's stalled me on a lot of projects too. But just got to do the work! It's the only way to get through. :-)

Thank youuuuu! I was rereading some of my prose and being disgusted, so the compliment is very much appreciated.

Yeah. I am so much more motivated to work on the characters, themes, and general feel of a world than the concrete details --- because those are the things that are vibrant and REAL to me, and the rest just feels like making arbitrary superficial decisions about a world that doesn't exist. Ho hum. Not a particularly inspired world-builder, I.
