The more I watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy, then more I have the feeling that I'm watching a D&D game. Eight of the fellowship are players, while Gandalf and everybody else are NPCs. Boromir is that one player that the rest of the group hates and is conveniently killed off, but vows to build his own group, which he swears will be bigger and ( Read more... )

PSST! Follow the link. Raised by Wolves: Brethren - by W.A. Hoffman - it's a four-book long epic, two of which have been published (the third is listed as available in Spring 08, so sometime soon, mayhaps). It's not graphic or gratuitous, and the author did a TON of research, which shows :)

Someone beat me to the DM of the Rings thing.

I am rather curious about Raised by Wolves, but will wait for Jenny to loan it to me to see.

I miss you, too . . .

Being a creative writing major sucks the joy out of reading books, and while I have some complaints on the author's style (which is solid enough, though could use some more fine tuning) and thoughts on how I would have written this or that a different way, I enjoy Raised by Wolves: Brethren :) I have less than 100 pages to go until I'm finished. It's not Hemingway (but nothing is), but it is a fun, fast read [for a novel over 500 pages in length] and the amount of time and research put into the story is impressive and really shines.

call me when you get back???

She's taking a Hemingway class right now, so whether she likes it or not, she is living and breathing Hemingway :P
