Dude I replayed the "lethal elimator" moment at least a handful of times before moving on. I was in awe of the extreme nature of the "extraneous gibs".
I'm not totally sure what you mean by that. D you mean the way the gun shifts and rotates etc. or the way the man's body kind of shreds apart before exploding? It feels graphic even writing it...
Oh the explosion for sure. I meant "ludicrous gibs" it's an old gaming term back in the day from the 90's. it essentially means BOOM-SPLAT (annnnd...FINGERPAINT!) Hahaha! Sorry, the Akira fan and old-school gamer finds it far more humorous than gross.
Everyone rips on Akane, and I seriously don't get it! I think in their society, it's important to have your own viewpoints, because they're spoon-fed from birth what their "role" in society is. And for her to stand up for her own beliefs, it's a good thing. Yeah, she's a total newbie -- but we already knew that!
If I remember correctly, the criminal was embittered because he was doing well according to his standards, but the system had pegged him as "dirty". And all along, he had been doing his best -- yet never matched up to their "standards". I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember something about that. He talks about it during his rant at the victim.
As for the victim, she was shown to be recovering in the last clips of the episode. Where Akane is having her briefing with Ginoza and he asks "Did you do the right thing?" (or whatever he asked.
I actually don't have a beef with Akane. It was just a harsh start to her character, and I felt like the display was overly emotional, especially as the outcome was not drastically different. I have come to like her character quite a bit. There are two major scenes in which she disappoints me. This one... and the other one I'll talk about when we get there.
I just remember him mumbling about how he was always trying to do his best and leave others alone, and then he gets flagged by a street scanner and basically feels like his life is over, so he decides that from then on he'll just do whatever he wants. I was just wondering what caused the street scanner to flag him. I might have to rewatch the scene again though because now I don't remember.
I know that she was recovering. I just want to know more about the recovery process. Since the show is very much about psychology, I would have liked to see that...
Well... I liked her from the get-go, so I just don't understand it.
Yeah, it was something like that. As for WHY the scanner picked him up, I guess it's how the system knows your thoughts even when you don't... It didn't really explain why and I don't know if it was that critical overall. More like one of those "would be nice to know".
Did it show anything about that part? For some reason, I remember a scene like she was going through counseling or something like that... But my memory is known to be fault at times. Especially since I was watching a number of shows during that time.
I guess so. It's no totally mandatory and yet I would have been interested anyway.
It did show her sitting with another man (therapist) in therapy but it looked like they were just talking. It wasn't super specific. I just wanted to know if there was something more to it than counseling/conversation.
