Just popping in here real fast from my phone (yes, that one ises this journal still so I can read stuff!). Have you heard the full album of Jupiter yet? Classical Element? Blessing of the Future was a bad idea of them as first material, I admit, but this full album is showing the full extend of what these guys are as a team. From ballad to heavy growl and back, this album is AMAZING. At least to me. I'm still listening to it right now, and haven't heard all of it yet... I'd still say to give it a chance. It's much better than the first single. I am now stupid as I will get fined by the government for importing this album, but I just HAVE to have it. XD
I haven't listened to the whole thing, just the first single. I suppose it won't hurt me to try it out. I'll see if I can find it and give it a listen. I really respect your music taste so I know you wouldn't recommend it to me if it wasn't good.
It's not my rip since it's not officially out yet other than on the Japanese version of iTunes. So it's m4a format. iTunes and Windows Media Player should both be able to play this. Don't thank me, thank the person who pirated iTunes. XD Beware of ALLEGORY CAVE, though. It is the heaviest song of the album with deep growls and general heavy metal mixed with symphonic. Also, Heaven's Atlas and Scarlet are my favorites so far. Scarlet and Nostalgie will have PVs, and I hope Type A has Scarlet, but I'll rip it for you if you want none the less. ;)
Wait...you've never watched FMA???? Sweet Jeebus, girl! It's right up there with DTB as my top anime ever. Although, Attack on Titan is proving to be incredibly intense and visually stunning (I've seen 15/20 eps). Holy crap. I LOVE it.
FMA is such a wonderfully emotional and complex story. Totally one you need for the repertoire.
I had watched CodeBreakers which was pretty good, but I've been a been on a bit of a fluffy bent: Kamisama Hajimemashita, Kaicho wa Meido-sama "Maid-sama". So ultra-violent and ultra-fluff. I think you already mentioned that you had watched Sword Art Online? Ao no exorcist? DeathNote (also in my top 5 animes ever)? How about older animes like "X"?
As for music, I think out general tastes differ. As in , I do like symphonic metal, but it's not my primary choice. I listen to a lot of alt-prog, post-hardcore, psychedelic, shoe-gaze...so yeah.
Remember, we talked about this, haha!! A friend of mine felt it was meh. So idk, I'm pretty picky.
I have seen Kaichou wa Maid-sama and I loved it. So already won. I'll have to see about FMA. Maybe. :P I have not watched Sword Art Online but have heard about it. It's good? Blue Exorcist has been recommended three times now!! Must be pretty good, maybe lol
Eh, maybe. But maybe not. I am devoted to symphonic metal but not in spite of anything else. I listen to all kinds of music. Anything almost, as long as it's Japanese rock. (not that I'm opposed to English but I hardly listen to English music)
I do not like Jupitor's vocalist, so I totally can't get into them.
I'm always sharing at my journal new music, because I recommend it, but I think your tastes are a little different than mine.
I can only recommend an older band called Rentrer en Soi.
These are some bands with that same orchestra/organ sounds like V, but I don't really care for them. Schardix Marvally, Megarania, Phantasmajoria.
You already like the other bands I would recommend to you.
xxxx
As far as anime: Blast of Tempest (Bones) and Stein's Gate have time travel in them. Blue Exorcist (Tensai Okamura) Code Breaker (They have powers like the DTB characters) Devil is a Part Timer is just fun.
Our tastes are a little different, but I was planning on looking through your posts to see if something caught me. Typically my phone causes me a lot of problems via LJ which is why I don't read closely or try to play videos and stuff. I don't really care for him either. He can carry a tune but he's not really a good singer. :P
I have never tried Rentrer en Soi. And though I have a preference for symphonic metal. apart from my top fave bands I don't listen to a whole lot of it. So it's just about finding things I like.
The only one I've heard of is Blue Exorcist and I've never watched it so I'll have to take a peek. Another friend just mentioned it. I'll google the others too. Thanks :)
Edit to the above: she meant "Megaromania", they are indeed pretty good! Also, VII-Sense has Juka on vocals under the name of Shaura, and remembering what you said of that... Beware, haha. I should not read through other people's comments, I am so mean...
Aww, I feel pathetic. I have nothing to share... haha. I haven't listened to any new music in ages and the new stuff I've listened to wouldn't be to your taste anyways. And for anime, I haven't watched anything like DTB/PP lately so that's no help either.
I was like you on Jupiter with their first release, but I snatched the album shared so I'll give them another shot. It's really hard to decide if you like a group based on just one song. I don't mind this new guy's voice, but at the same time, it's not my fave... And I'm not sooo "critical" of style (either I like it or I don't), so I can't even tell if it's "Versaille-esque" or "not Versailles-esque". haha, my brain just doesn't think that way!!
So yeah. The only anime recommendation I can throw out there is Hakkenden (forgot the full name). It's more fantasy-adventure type? You know, with demons and magical powers... That sort of thing. It's the only one I'm kind of keeping up with now. (Vacation seriously throws a wrench into things XD)
Don't feel pathetic, really. Everybody seems to only want to recommend me symphonic metal anyways which is... well it is right and not right at the same time. I listen to a lot of music, Chinese, Korean, pop, classical, whatever. I just want to know what everyone is into right now so I can try something new, bearing in mind things that I've already stated I don't like. But just to be fearless about a recommendation. I won't bite anyone's head off, lol. arurukin knows.
I just downloaded the album as well. Though in general, her tastes are heavier than mine, when she suggested I'd actually like something I have. So I trust her to know me pretty well on that end. I heard samples of Kamijo's single too and I'm ecstatic. I'm critical of style, so I can tell you if it's Versailles-esque or not lol!
I will google it. I like adventure/fantasy based things as well.
Yeah but I checked my iPod and most of the artists in there are not symphonic metal or even close. I listen to everything. Symphonic metal is my favorite, tis all.
I saw your post and I'll have to give them a listen later. All this music spam is a bit for a girl who mostly has a phone at her disposal, ya know?
I have two SID songs that I like - "Monokuro no KISS" from Black Butler and another song from the same single called "Season."
