But that word wouldn't mean anything to her. In all my interactions with the blind (which is limited, certainly) I've never known a person to speak in terms of colors. Not even if they had been able to see at one point and lost their sight over time. They abandon that terminology.
AND MAO'S EXPRESSION - Priceless! I wanted to do screenshots but I got busy and distracted so I forgot to watch it a second time on my comp. I realize the screenshots are becoming popular, hehe
You're totally right about Hei's posture. I never put much thought into it, but it's totally conspicuous :) Everytime I see Mao atop that car I have to imagine what I'd think if I saw such a thing flying past me. I'd probably check myself in to a hospital!
I never worked or knew someone blind so I wouldn't know. I would think that if they loved something that much, that they would want to be able to know how to describe that feeling to someone else. So she may have asked her mom, and her mom described it as a silver moonlight.
yeah the Mao having a common face... and when he's up on the taxi...LOL Mao. he tries to serious and wise but ends up being comic relief half of the time!
Funimation didn't get permission from Pizza Hut to allow the Pizza Hut ads in the US version, so they had to change all of them to Pizza Slice instead.
I love the music in this episode. So beautiful. And with the moonlight it was amazingly touching.
Yin is one obvious example that Contractors and Dolls are changing. At the end of episode 6, Yin caught Hei's arm, but he frowned and pushed her. Hei was very emotional in this episode and so was Yin. She shouldn't care about how he felt after loosing one of the people who knew what happened to his sister, but she tried to show a compassion. In this episode, she gives us a huge proof about the Dolls' progress. Also, we all know how she changes in next episodes.
The efforts that Elis's puts to help Yin are impressing. He must to truly loved her mother and this way he feels like she's his kid or something. Sort of.
I have a question. Is Yin actually blind or she can see only shades? Because I don't think she's blind in season 2.
Sometimes I think that Yin is able to develop her personality again because of Hei. Since he doesn't fit into the norm. Otherwise, she's surrounded by people who abandon their emotions in order to get the work done, so they wouldn't behave in a way that might stimulate her feelings. They treat her like she's inhuman and incapable of connecting with them. But because Hei's emotions tend to leak out, whether he wants them to or not, I think that might arouse her human feelings.
Yes, Eelis' devotion is beautiful. He obviously didn't have to spend his life hunting her down but he chose to anyway.
Is there a reason why you don't think that she's blind in season 2? I think most blind people see/detect SOMETHING - you know, like it's not pitch black or a blank screen. But with Yin - I get the feeling that she is still blind, that her transformation into a doll/her programming didn't change that, but that she can see using her surveillance specters of course. It's a tricky subject that the show doesn't really address, so...
If she can see with her specter that explains everything. I support Haruko's theory for season two. She said that because Yin is Izanami she can see. That makes sense.
You're right. The only think I don't like for the show is that it never explains in details. We know that Amber had some feelings for Hei in South America and even after it, but we don't know if they were a couple and if Hei had feelings for her as well. We don't know what Hei feels for Misaki, what happened to Yin in season two's final and some other things I can't think of right now. I'm not saying that I'm disappointed, because I'm not, but it'd have been nice if we had more details.
Being legally blind, many can still see forms, light/dark and even shades of color...it depends on the form & degree of blindness. my mother-in-law lives with/assists a middle-aged blind woman. She has and uses her iphone. (with big/bold letters and numbers.
Sorry I'm late in the game. I have LOTS of notes to post...gonna go do that now.
Not that I am or ever was a musician, but I played saxophone for two years in elementary school and I can say such concepts as emotion and passion would have fallen on deaf ears then. I actually can't even recall whether or not my music teacher suggested such things. Granted, she was one person responsible for teaching an entire class of various instruments at one time but even so :P

I think that in some way Hei sees Bai in Yin. They are around the same age, right? Both of them are having no emotions for long time (or at least they didn't show them in front of Hei), but as we know Yin and Bai are actually caring about Hei and they love him a lot. He is part of their reason to change. There is something similar between Bai and Yin. I don't mean their outlook, but their characters.
Yin is so defenseless, fragile and...calm. She is really one intriguing character.
Huang acts like a jerk in this episode. He doesn't care what would happen to Yin as long as she doesn't say anything about the Syndicate. I hate his attitude. Glad he changes later!
Just to touch on your point about Kiko and Mayuko - Kiko and Gai are the "anime characters" of the anime. They poke fun at by representing everything people who really aren't in to anime hone in on when they're new. It's basically a little reminder to just have fun with it. I appreciate the comic relief since the anime is so serious and metaphorical and even deep at times...

“Don’t worry, you’ve got a pretty common face.” Me too. Love it.
