Sometimes I do wish I was using PS since it's got so many different options. Especially because of the selective colouring. +sighs+ But that's just my laziness to learn how to use that program. Tried it once. Have to say PSP is way easier to handle. Ok. Now that was completely irrelevant. What I really wanted to say was that yes.... Jared Leto IS love xD

Well, everyone starts and improves. I started and didn't know how to change opacities XD I didn't even know how to resize! But once you get the hang of it, you'll thank idunnowho. x)

Like I said - me=lazy lol. Actually, it wasn't that hard to use but still... decided to come back to using PSP. And most of the time I'm content with that because it still gives me lots of oportunities for doing my graphics. xD

I made two icons using this technique. The first one I followed and then played with the settings like crazy, added another selective coloring layer and then a gradiant I made. The other one I followed your tutorial a bit more closely. Here are the results, if you're interested:

i had a different effect. when i fixed the pic, i thought it came out from a mag. it was like woah. is that okay or do i need to change the blend mode of the sc? or what? i dunno. i think it's already cool

loved the effect on yours. :)

Well, once you duplicate the sc color layer, ur s'pposed to put it on soft light. Show me the original image and I'll do it for you if u want :)
