Modly post- breathing life into this place
This community has been around since May of 2005- wow! Since then it's certainly seen its share of ups and downs, both in activity and in other ways. I admit to having sort of lost interest in keeping this place active and such a long time ago, but I don't want to see this community die and I'm not willing to just completely hand this community over to anyone who volunteers.
Right now there are technically four moderators total: myself, cherith, fireflypenance, and minimorr. I'd like to know whether or not these people are interested in still being moderators or if they'd like to be demoted back down to members. If none of these other people answer this post within a fair amount of time (like...a week or so) to tell me if they want to just be members, I'll be removing their moderator status.
Secondly, I...don't really know what else we could do to breathe life into this community again. I suppose we could just do an entire remodel (new layout, new profile, etc) but I've sort of lost the energy and interest to try and put any massive effort into doing so...
So I guess I just want to try and discuss what we can do about getting this community at least a little more than semi-active again. We're ONE member away from 300 members!
Edit: Looking at the tags, it looks like there was a post back in September about breathing life into the community again, but nothing ever came of it...but maybe we'll still be able to do something to fix this place up, whether it's adding new moderators or...I don't know. I don't want to change the purpose of the community or anything like that, but if there were one or two people who were at least willing to do -something- to help with getting this place active again by making more posts or something, it would be a good start.
So...discuss? Suggestions?
