“She doesn’t deserve you, Collins.”
Jazz Collins looked over at is partner, mouth of his beer bottle just barely touching his lips. “What?”
“Your wife, she doesn’t deserve you.” Chase ‘Prowl’ Hunter repeated taking a swig of his own beer, his eyes looking at his partner.
Jazz sighed, rolling his eyes. “Not this again, Prowl. I love my wife.”
“How could you love someone who makes you so miserable?” The lighter skinned cop put a hand up, silencing the protest that was on the other’s lips. “Yes, she does. You two are constantly fighting over something, granted never in front of Marcus or others, but you still fight. I mean how often do you have to stay the night at either my apartment or with your mechanic friends’? How many times do you have to listen to her say what you do as a living is meaningless? You work to save peoples lives while you put your own on the line. How can she call that meaningless! How can you even let her say things like that?”
Jazz glared, his golden eyes piercing into angry blue ones. “You know it’s not always like that. I work late nights and early mornings. I’m barely home sometimes; she has a right to be angry.”
“If she really loved you, then she wouldn’t complain about your job, and you never being home. She would understand.” Prowl argued as he leaned in closer to his partner. “You deserve to be treated better; you deserve to be with someone who loves you with every fiber of their being.”
“Oh yeah?” Jazz snorted and shook his head. “Who is that someone suppose to be?”
“Me.”
Jazz paused, looking at Prowl in surprise at what could be considered a confession. Cool blue eyes just looked back at him, waiting for his reply. A few moments passed before he let out a nervous laugh, trying to break the silence. “Heh, right. Stop joking, man.”
Prowl all but slammed his hand against the arm rest that was next to Jazz, using it as support as he leaned in closer. His eyes had the look of determination in them. “Do I look like I’m joking, Collins?”
A shiver ran through Jazz’s frame and his heart skipped a beat in anticipation? No! He loved his wife….right? Yes, of course he did! Even as the words and that tone of voice caused his body to react in ways he did not want to admit. He put a hand on Prowl’s shoulder to stop his partner as he leaned in closer. “Prowl…s-stop..”
“If you really want me to stop, then stop me yourself.” Prowl leaned in the rest of the way and claimed Jazz’s lips in a searing kiss. Prowl tried to express his love for Jazz through the kiss, so he put his whole being into it.
Jazz whimpered as his mouth was devoured by his partner’s, a million thoughts running through his head. He tried to think of his wife, of how much he loved her. He tried to tell himself that Prowl was taking advantage of him, that he didn’t want this. He didn’t want, he really really didn’t. He didn’t want Prowl or those crystal blue eyes that bore into his soul or that strong handsome face that lit up every time he smiled, or the well sculpted body Jazz always seemed to take peeks of in the shower. No! He never looked at Prowl’s naked body with water cascading over hard lines and curves, because Jazz didn’t want Prowl! He didn’t want to be kissed with such passion, such love that it made his heart flutter….fuck, he couldn’t deny it; he wanted Prowl. The hand that he had used to stop Prowl’s advances now fisted the material of his shirt pulling him closer. He felt Prowl thread a hand through his dread locks, cradling the back of his head gently. The kiss let up, leaving both the participants panting. “Chase.”
Prowl caressed Jazz’s neck with a free hand, softly nuzzling the darker face with his own. “Jazz.” Prowl sighed, placing their foreheads together. “I’m sorry; I’ve screwed things up even more for you, haven’t I?” He chuckled. “Would you believe me if I said the alcohol was making me do it?”
Jazz grinned. “Please, you haven’t even finished your first bottle.” He returned Prowl’s affections by sliding his own fingers into two toned hair. “And you’re not screwing anything up; you’re just making things a bit more complicated. But I think I don’t mind all so much.” The grin he had been wearing turned into a genuine smile.
Blue eyes meet gold ones once again as each asked the other an unspoken question. Lips meet again as bodies began to move from the couch and down the hall. Cloths left a trail behind them to the bed, allowing trembling flesh to meeting trembling flesh. Mouths meet again as hands explored, mapping territory unknown. Skin became slick with sweat and slide easily against the each other. Moans and gasps filling the air. Two bodies melded in one simple thrust of the hips. Climaxes were reaching in a frenzy of movement as names were called out with pleasure laced voices.
Prowl fell on top of the Jamaican French Creole, panting in exhaustion. He rolled to the side and holding the other man close in a loose embrace. “Jazz?”
“Hmm?” Jazz looked up, lips drooping slightly as sleep tried to take over.
Prowl paused as he soothingly ran a hand up and down his back. “I love you…”
His own embrace around Chase tightened for a moment as he opened his mouth to reply. “Chase…I…umm-”
“I just wanted you to hear how I feel; I’m not expecting you to say anything in return.” He placed his forehead against Jazz’s again. “I realized I just dumped a burden onto your shoulder with all of this, whether you admit it or not.” He gave a small smirk at his partner’s protest. “Just know that I’ll always be here for you with whatever you decide to do.”
“Thank you.” Jazz smiled, hoping he will one day be able to return the words Prowl had said to him. With that thought in mind, he peacefully drifted off to sleep in his partner’s warm embrace.
