“Gabe, could we talk?”
Gabriel Ironhide stood up from the custom hot rod he was working on. Wiping his greasy hands on a rag he walked towards the cop. “Sure, what’s up Jazz?”
“In private, if you don’t mind.” Jazz glanced over at the twins currently working on an old corvette.
‘Hide blinked. “Not at all.” He followed his friend in to the employees’ lounge silently wondering what Jazz could possibly need to talk about in private. Jazz was normally such an open person and didn’t care who was around when he opened that mouth of his. Once he had closed the door to the lounge he looked at the darker skin man in concern. “It everything alright, Jazz?”
A sigh escaped the Jamaican French Creole’s lips. “I’m not sure, really.”
“Not sure?” Gabe raised a pierced eyebrow.
“You’ve meet my partner, Prowl, right?” Jazz waited for the other man to nod before continuing. “Well, he….um, saw me…..with my wings out.
Gabriel’s eyes widened slightly. “Are you sure? I mean how did he--What the hell were you doing that you needed your wings out?” He wasn’t angry with the kid, more concerned like an older brother. “Shouldn’t you be talking to Prime about this?”
Jazz shook his head a small grin on his face. “Prime’s not as easy to talk to as you are.”
“Flattery will get you everywhere with me.” Gabe returned the grin. “Now out with it. Why did you have you have your wings out?”
“I didn’t bring them out on my own. They kind of showed up when Prowl and I were…well um.” He coughed and looked away from the ex-solider, a blush gracing his cheeks.
Gabe grinned fully understanding what Jazz wasn’t saying. “So he finally got you in his bed, eh?”
Jazz sputtered, his blush lit up brighter on his face. “W-what? How?”
“Heh. I saw the way Prowl looked at you when he thought no one was watching.” Gabriel patted the other man on his shoulder. “Kind of felt sorry for the poor guy, being in love with someone who’s...” Ironhide paused, looking a little more serious. “Married.”
“Yeah.” Jazz took a deep breath and let it out slowly as he sank down on to the couch. He let out a small cold laugh. “I must be the worst cop ever; I’m having an affair and it’s with my partner. I don’t want to hurt anyone, but….. I-I care about Prowl…a lot actually.”
Gabriel watched the cop with intense brown eyes. He had never seen Jazz this down before, the kid that always had a smile on his face even when faced with death itself.
“Do you love him?” The ex-soldier asked.
“When I’m with him, I feel so happy. Like everything’s the way it’s supposed to be.” He avoided Gabe’s question, for now anyways. Jazz closed his eyes, a small smile on his face. “And it’s not just during the sex, it’s all the time. When we’re in the office, or on a case, or even when we just hang out together. Something I haven’t felt since my first anniversary. So the answer is yes, I love him.”
Gabe let a grin spread onto his face again. “Have you told him that yet?”
“No, not yet,” He answered. “But I will the next chance I get.” Jazz fingered his wedding ring. “I don’t know how I’m going to tell my wife though.”
“It’d be best to tell her after the divorce; you should keep it as clean as possible.” He knew all too well about messy divorces, having gone though one himself. He paused. “This might put your son through hell though, if there’s a custody battle. I know you both love him to death.”
Jazz sighed. “He should be with his mother. My job wouldn’t allow me to be able to take care of him, not to mention the job I have with you guys.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I just want to be able to see him.”
Gabe nodded. “That’s understandable. I’m sure your wife will allow visitation rights. She seemed nice enough when I met her those few times.”
Jazz let out a chuckle. “You obviously never met her when she’s pissed off.”
“Heh, I had a wife like that.”
Jazz raised a brow. “You had a wife?”
“Two, actually,” Gabriel grinned. “But that was a long time ago, before for a lot of things happened.”
“Things?”
Gabriel sighed as he absentmindedly scratched at the scars on his wrists. “Yeah, things. I know you’re curious, Jazz, but it’s something I’d rather not talk about if you don’t mind.”
The cop winced a little. “Sorry, I didn’t realize it was a tender subject.”
“Nah, no harm done.” He shrugged, and the two of them fell into an awkward silence. It stayed that way for a few minutes until Gabriel started to chuckle all of a sudden.
Jazz raised a brow at the chuckling ex-soldier. “What’s so funny?”
“Oh, just the fact that we’ve totally veered off the subject you originally wanted to discuss.” Gabe grinned as he folded his arms across his chest.
Jazz paused and thought about it for a second then started chuckling himself. “We did, didn’t we?”
“Yup.” Gabe still continued to chuckle. “I still think you should talk to Eric about that. Since he’s the leader and he needs to know about this.”
Jazz groaned. “Yeah, I know. I just don’t want to be yelled at then lectured. Prime’s a scary guy when he’s angry.”
Gabe snickered. “He’s not that bad.”
A voice suddenly pierced through the open door that connected the lounge to the garage. “ARGH!!! You two, get your asses back here!”
The two men in the lounge looked at each other, exchanging a curious look before they moved to the door to see what was going on. The twins suddenly ran past the door, giggling like mad men as Eric chased after them with a screwdriver in hand. The look in his eyes was that of someone about to kill.
“Ummm,” Gabriel scratched his head. “I think maybe you might want to talk him later.”
Jazz nodded in agreement.
Suddenly there was a loud crash followed by, “You little fuckers! When I get my hands on you….!”
“Make that tomorrow, or the end of the week, depending on what those two did.” Type your cut contents here.
