Baby fever

Dec 11, 2012 13:03

Patrick and I have started to do the baby-tango. Its the first time in my entire life that I havn't used protection, and its both exhilarating and nerve wracking at the same time. It just sorta feels...strange. And even though I KNOW I havn't ovulated yet this month (I can usually feel it), Im still second guessing everything- "Im really tired ( Read more... )

Yeah, I think especially since you are not using protection it's normal to be anxiously awaiting (or hoping you don't get) your period and second guessing every symptom.

Good luck!

Weren't you saying a month ago that you weren't sure you were even happy with this guy anymore? How do you go from being unhappy to trying to have a baby?

Ah, a lot has changed. That was just a really really bad week for us and I was freaking out about how things were going in our relationship. We're doing really well and frankly, we were then too, but I was stressed between full time school and cancer treatments and such.

It's not going to be that quick. bloodsong1 December 12 2012, 01:21:56 UTC
Speaking as a mom who went through the "I'm off bc, wtf?!?"

I don't know the stats for the IUD, but it can take anywhere between three months to a YEAR for your body to reset itself. Only when you periods are officially "back on track" will your body go "Oh, hey, I'm not pregnant anymore! OOOOO!!! SPERM!!! I'll take some of that!" (I was on the pill, it took Wolf and I about two years from last dose and pookah intervention for me to conceive Cuteness. It also took me roughly two years to reset from the depo shots and wouldn't you know it, I found SNB the same month! Went back on the depo as soon as I could!)

Really, sweetie. It will be months, so please don't drive yourself batty. If you know when your ovulation times are, jump Patrick when they kick on and let Nature do her thing. Please, please, please, don't go insane over any little deviation. Call or email me if you need to!

I think its because it's the first month and thats why I'm so crazy about it. That, in addition to the fact that I've never been off birth control before (and Im including condoms in that) soo...

My doctor said it would probably take 3 cycles before I can get pregnant provided nothing is wrong with me.

I can understand the "OMG I'M NOT COVERED!" feeling. You're not "normal" right now. I just don't want you overly stressing any little change in your mood, behavior or physiology until the new normal takes full effect.

I was exactly the same way! Every little thing I wondered about. Although when it really happened, I was certain I wasn't because my boobs got all sore like they do right before my period. Turns out they do then when I'm pregnant too! I always used a diaphragm so I got pregnant the second month we started trying. The second time, I got pregnant as soon as we started. I don't know what you were using for BC but that might make a difference if it was some artificial hormonal type that might take a while to clear out of your body.

Good luck and here's hoping it happens quickly for you :D

I was using an IUD but I've already had a normal period since I got it removed, and some people I know have gotten pregnant right after it was removed so theologically it's possible, but its just not really probable you know?
