I read an article on that this morning, but from what I understand those other countries would just be invited to some G8 Meetings but wouldn't be full members. The article I read called it the "G8+5". The article I read said that it was mainly on trade and environment issues that the Tony Blair wanted thoses 5 countries included in.

Did you hear that the G8 would actually become the G13?

LOL..I understood just enough to know it was about the G8.

I don't think its a bad idea..with maybe the exception to China because I think only democracies should be in the G8..I think it would be a disgrace for the G8 to let a country like China in that doesnt respect human rights at all. I would hope one of the 8 countries would veto China's memebership.

There are a few points to the decision of China entering the G8.

I do not agree with Chinese Policies either... but I must be realistic to see that CHina is becoming an economical horsepower and will soon make leading decisions on global issues.

Therefore, I think it is possitive that CHina starts gettingt the attention and the shared responsabilities of other developed countries that can influence China's development towards more western methods.
