Would you be interested in joining the Russian choir? It meets on Thursdays, beginning at the end of September, for one hour, probably 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., in the Dalhousie Arts Centre. You don't have to know Russian to take part -- we learn all the songs phonetically. The performance takes place the evening of the last Saturday in November, as part of Russian Night festivities.

If you're interested, let me know -- we can always use new voices!

russian choir eh? It sounds interesting, although, I am not sure what will be the requirements on the other choir yet, but I guess I could give it a shot.

What is the music training level required? what are the dynamics of the group?

any details I should be aware of?

You need to be able to follow a tune when your line is picked out on the piano, and you need to be able to hold your own against the other parts when we're singing in parts. But that's all there is to it -- we certainly are not professional in any sense of the word.

Group dynamics vary widely from year to year -- we'll just have to see who signs up this time around. The music is beautiful...

I'll post information as soon as I have it -- then you can decide. Come to the first gathering, and you can decide if it's for you after that.

Hey John, I just got my schedule for the semester and it seems that Thursdays are taken already (I went to my first rehersal last night) for the voice essamble, but thanks for the offer, sounds like an excellent group

Cheers
David.
