A new dress and ramblings

Some of you may know that I recieved a new sewing machine for XMas. I am so thrilled to be sewing again on my Viking Platinum 775. It's a bit of a step up from my Brother but easy enough to figure out...especially when you read the manual. Still stuck with the same old ruffler foot (universal fit, my butt) I'll be trading up to an actual Viking ( Read more... )

Gorgeous fabrics! I would love to have them in my stash :D. And don't you just love husqvarna sewing machines. I'm still really happy with mine.

I love my new machine....and all the feet I can buy to use with it. There are so many to choose from!

Since you're familiar with TV patterns, I was thinking of doing something different with the sleeves of the Vest Basque bodice, but I'm not sure what. Because it gets hot where I am and I'll most likely be wearing this when the temperature goes up, do you think a pouf-like, ball gown sleeve would look okay on this bodice? I just don't want to be wearing long sleeves in the heat....bleh.

The extra feet are just wonderful! I have several and want more :D.

I'm not sure if I would use a ball gown sleeve with this bodice. I think it will look akward. You could go for a 3/4 sleeve or maybe a sheer sleeve. If youcould find a sheer fabric in the same colour I think it would look wonderful.

I considered a sheer sleeve...and may go back to it. If not, I'll save it for something more "experimental" and keep the long sleeve on this one. Thx for the advice.
