Lost in Space costume - Judy Robinson
Got some progress pictures of my next costume project, Judy Robinson from the original Lost in Space TV series. I'm using Kwik Sew 3576 for a base pattern, just trying to get "close enough" for the dress shape and style. Gotta wash the fabric today before I start cutting out. Until then, enjoy mockup pics!
First, a reminder pic. Judy is in the purple dress:
My fabric. It's some sort of poly double knit...I fear it won't keep a nice, sharp crease that I'll need for the pleats in the skirt and the bias tape I'll need to make.
I buggered one of the pleats (on the left) but the rest look perfect when I'm wearing the dress. I only had to shorten the skirt length and reposition the bust dart to make a nice fit.

Sure, it's a little sloppy...but I was trying it as an after thought.
Not too bad a start. I'd like to be finished with it before NEXT weekend. I'll keep ya posted!
