INTENSE poem. it would be kinda cool if every line started with "I," for continuity.
check me if i'm wrong, but is this the message?
"I hold on to all that is not meant for me In this recovery from accomplishment forfeited I cannot bear to be without I cannot live my life I do not hold what my arms scream for"
is this about alcoholism? that's what i imagined when I read these lines, mostly b/c of the word "recovery." It seems to be about some alcohol or drug addiction, as "my arms scream for" suggests. And then the second half of the poem is about the affect of drugs on "I." Even if its about something else this poem was really deep for me.
Thanks for the comments! Actually... it's interesting because I have a tendency to compare human need of (anything) to drugs or alcoholism, but that's not what this one was about- and it didn't even cross my mind. But the great thing is that's what you took from it. I like when my writing gives someone else a different meaning but it's the same idea. I love that.
as you know i will never correct your writing. I have always admired you just the way you are. thank you so much for the comment. I found the most gifted person ever to Live Journal with . the very professor who taught me how to write he won the highest award a writer/jounalist can recieve in the united states and a full scholarship because of it and he and i spoke on the phone today after i tracked him down. He is going to hopefully start a live journal and write back and forth. I would love to publish what I am working on and what I have written. Maybe with his help, it could happen. YOU ON THE OTHER HAND SHOULD HAVE BEEN FAMOUS A LONG TIME AGO!!! theres no writer like you on the face of this planet
You're so sweet. Though it looks like the end of your comments got cut off... I still got the point. Thank you!
I'm really glad you found someone awesome to LJ with- he sounds very intelligent.
I hope to publish as well. I am still working on expanding my collection of works and my styles of writing. But hopefully soon! :) Hope your weekend is going well.
Well... I was reading the post and "Whatever, faggot" is reason enough to be kicked off a posting site. If you read the rules on the main site info it says clearly "Personal attacks will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned from posting.". When I read your comment I deleted it myself. There are a lot of other poetry sites on LJ, so find a new one and the best thing to do is keep your comments polite, don't cuss in them and don't insult people. :)
