Pssst. Can you unscreen mine? I need to copy and paste it to another person's page (with a few changes, natch), but I can't see it!

I keep thinking about that one comment, what I thought of you when I first met you. I hate that it came off so negative, and I feel like we are maybe not to the point where that was taken the way I intended it. You know that it was the company you were in and the situation that colored my thinking and that I think you are GREAT now....

I hated you, I thought you were insecure and immature (Was that too honest?) ;-)

****

LOL No worries-- no offense was taken. And I appreciate the honesty!

And ...let's face it. The situation sucked-- and I *was* insecure and immature and really really naive... Since that time I've imagined the inverse, imagining that if I had 5 year old Kix and was on my own and some chick shows up with a shiny expensive gift from the Absentee Daddy and thinks we're gonna get along GREAT, and she was with him (she's thinking) forever and so let's be Friends, and she wants to get to know your child...? I laugh at myself, how immature and naive I was not to understand or even really contemplate how *you* would feel.

And of course, because Karma is real and true, I got to experience a similar uncomfortable situation first hand when his first wife started talking about her plans for sleepovers for Kix and their 'future child' and stuff, to my absolute horror... Life experience is a wonderful and humbling thing ( ... )

I forgot about the whole Buzz Lightyear thing...wow. I think at that point I didn't wanna know who you were.

It's funny because I was referring to that night at the Disneyland Hotel, when he invited me there and forgot to tell me that not only was there a party going on with tons of people but that he was with someone. I thought we were going to talk about his future as a father, but nope. That was a horrible night, followed by a rather sucky next day when his (I don't even think it was his) credit card was declined so Vincent got to look at Disneyland but couldn't go in...and then of course he dragged us to go pick you up from work without telling us where we were going.

Oh, wow -- and see how strange, because I completely forgot about that night (though I think the Buzz thing was first, and that's definitely my first real strong memory of you, and you were hating me *like whoa* that day. Which, honestly, was totally reasonable --though I didn't get that at the time, I felt like "what the hell did I do?". I was 19 and *so* naive back then.)

Yeah, that week at the Disneyland hotel was like something out of Lost Weekend or something... just a very surreal experience. We're so lucky that we didn't end up arrested. I'm sorry about Vincent not getting to go to Disneyland though... I hate that he had to go through that disappointment. :(

What a mess that time was. Aren't we blessed that we are both now in better seasons in our lives?
