Fansite Personality: Whether it be sennins, youkai, or humans, watching the acts of those who inhabit the earth and their quarreling entertains Shinkohyo, a mysterious Youkai Sennin doushi (Immortal-in-training) who is over 5,000 years of age. With his tranquil-like voice and his nearly dead-pan facial expressions, one wouldn't think he was much more then a creepy clown with no emotions or likes whatsoever. However, that isn't so. Shinkohyo loves history. The world is a giant screen where a story is played out for him to watch and enjoy. It's mentioned he has spent large amounts of time reading ancient scriptures just to dig up enough information to understand certian points in history and despite his boring looking face while he read it all, he remarked how his research "paid off" in the end. You never see Shinkohyo without his faithful Spirit Beast and friend, Kokutenko, who assists him with it's "thousand mile sight" as well as companionship.
Normally, when someone finds the moment to insult him, Shinkohyo simply rolls it off his back. However, he is very vein about his looks and his "aesthetics." Shinkohyo isn't "good or bad." He doesn't take any sides to anything and likes to be removed from situations as much as possible, even though he loves stirring things up with relaying gossip. With that said, Shinkohyo only tells the truth, as it's more interesting then weaving a web of lies and can never come back to hurt him. He takes his voyeurism quite seriously. So serious, in fact, that he will intervene to make sure his tastes are met, even if that means getting involved in the affairs of others temporarily.
Shinkohyo was trained by Taijo Roukun, a Sandai Sennin who is believed to be the most powerful of the three Sandai Sennin. Due to his training, having the strongest Spiritual beast, and possessing the strongest Super Paopei (a weapon that can only be used by Sennins), Shinkohyo is known as the most powerful doushi. However, due to his lifestyle and appreciation for mischief, he rarely exercises that credibility. It's more of a warning to those who may insult him.
While watching people, since that's his favorite hobby, Shinkohyo also likes to try and figure out what 'characters' are thinking and see if he can guess their footwork before they make a move. Sometimes, he finds himself pleasantly surprised. He loves twists and turns in logical thinking as well as out-of-the-box ideas. After all, if you can guess everyone's next step... it wouldn't be very interesting to watch. Then again, if someone proves to be boring, he's prone to stir up their internal thinking by asking them if what they're about to do is truely what they wish to do at all or if they're okay with what they've done and even give suggestions. He never makes a decision for anyone. Shinkohyo only attempts to make someone second guess themselves or validate his hypothesis about their motives.
What your character can offer:
Put a spin on other character's perceptions and ideas voiced to the public by questioning them and their motives.
Causing drama by relaying information that sometimes those pesky communicators just can't do properly.
Commentary in a tranquil voice with little speech variation.
Creepiness masked in a nice colorful clown-like package.
What items will they be bringing with them?
His Super Paopei, the Raikouben. The Raikouben is a two scoop ice-creme cone-like wand with three yellow tassels sprouting out of it's top "scoop." It is considered the most powerful Super Paopei as it conjures up lightning in large masses over an enormous amount of space (Seen from space, it's range is about the size of china), making it nearly impossible to doge. It will not work as normal, though. Paopei feed off the energy of their users and since Shinkohyo will be chipped, the Raikouben will be nearly useless. When he tries to use it, I imagine the shock will be similar to that of the Communicator when someone hasn't touched it for two weeks.
I understand that due to power limitations in the city, when Shinkohyo does become un-chipped (eventually) It still will not be as powerful as it is in the Manga and cover a smaller amount of ground. (Though, I doubt he'll actually use it very often)
Third-Person Sample:
"What strange creatures they are..." Muttered Shinkohyo while his bare lips curved into a smile. "... tearing apart one another and then sewing their findings into their skin. Quite gruesome, isn't it?" Though it was still a thrill to watch. Shinkohyo found himself scooting to the other side of the rooftop to get a better view only to be pleasantly surprised to find a few people standing out from the crowd of Reavers below.
"Oh, what's this? Heading into battle with no weapons? This should be interesting." The figures below spread out, running around but something was odd about them. Suspicion proved true. The dark markings circling Shinkohyo's eyes widened as his eyes did. There people were using no weapons but some sort of invisible paopei? Perhaps their clothing were special paopei he hadn't ever witnessed before. Odd, considering there was no sennin world here, at least to his knowledge.
The city around him resembled that of the Yen Dynasty at one time, back when Dakki was romping around china, enjoying herself with the downfall of the emperor. The crumbling buildings and the hang of a stiff yet unseen cloud of misery. That strange sadness hanging int he air. The only difference were that these people, although trapped, seemed to be in much better condition than to the slaves of Dakki. Ah, even to see humans, and possibly youkai, using powers much like water, fire, and shadow paopei was extraordinary. A small chill flew up his spine. Could his Raikouben stand up to this new paopei? Presently, it wasn't the time to find out, but perhaps if he were bored enough, he could join the fight below.
Perhaps.
Watching was much more entertaining, to say the least. "Oh! Looks as though that one went down. Oh. And there goes another one..." Hm. At least watching the spar below kept the voyeur's mind busy momentarily. He normally did narrate to himself. After all, he could miss something important being said but in that moment of excitement, Shinkohyo had forgotten his faithful companion, Kokutenko, was not with him. Despite his rather large shoes, the talking mime peeled himself away from the edge of his seat, or rather building, and settled for a brief moment on another railing.
"Ah, here comes the weaponry." This was a bit more of what he had been expecting. Trampling, decapitation, the yelling. Echoing off the surrounding buildings, or what was left of them, made it almost feel as if there was a true war going on down there. In truth, it was only a handful of people fighting. Still, it barely held his interest as he turned his head just enough to peer aside at the looming presence coming from beyond the trees. What exactly was that? Any fool could sense it.
"Seems the real show has yet to begin. Oh, how I enjoy buildups." He chuckled, then sighed to himself. "As long as the climax is worth the wait, that is." Scoping the furthest side of the building, he decided to make his descend into the madness, at least to get a closer look at what was to come. He wouldn't miss anything this dark and mysterious for the world.
First-Person Sample:
[Video feeds cuts in to two rather large looking eyes, separated by a bridge of a nose. It becomes clear rather quickly that the communicator was just very close to the face of it's owner. Pulling away, two dark, almost painted, dots show under those big vacant eyes. Expressionless, what appears to be a clown, speaks in a voice with strange and drawn out pitch changes]
Over two-hundred channels and nothing interesting to see. One would think that such a group of people would be more lively, considering the circumstances. After all, its best if casualties can be avoided. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt by chance, ... riiiiight?
[A nice sized smirk stretches across the clown's insipid face as he continues to stare at the camera]
Could it be that you have grown content to this vapid scape? No. I believe it's something far worse than boredom... maybe it is the loss of hope?
How-ever...
I have heard this city is a commonplace for misfortune. Could it be I'm being just a biiiit impatient? Too early for the next show? What do you think, Kokutenko?
[The lack in response made Shinkohyo's smile drop. His head did not move but his eyes took a glance right and then swooped left. Kokutenko wasn't there. He was so used to his companion that being without him flew out his mind momentarily]
Hmm. It would be a pity if he were having more fun then I.
[Shinkohyo's face begins to smile again as his eyelids relax back towards the screen]
What will you do next, Dis-ce-do? That is something I truely wish to know.
[The feed cuts after a moment of staring at that strangely static face.]
