My mom just got pissed at me over nothing... again. She was walking out of the room, getting ready to go through the door. I asked her to shut the door on her way out. she blows up! "well that was a real shitty thing to say" She was on her way out.... it's not like she was standing next to me talking to me. She was clearly already leaving the room

My mother has been known to do the exact same thing. It's cuz she has her own issues and she takes it out on someone she knows is most likely to fight back so she can have an excuse to let it all out. It's bullshit, but what can you do. I'd like to say it gets better, but it doesn't. At least now that I'm in France, I can just hang up the phone. And then she pretends like nothing happened. And so do I. Life is just easier that way.
