He slipped into the dorm without his usual grandeur, quiet step and a letter folded painstakingly careful in his hands, the edges matching up perfect with pristine creases. At first, the boy hadn't noticed that the room wasn't empty. Empty was what Sirius was hoping for, but not really what he needed, and he watched Remus dozing for a long moment, his frown deepening, before he moved to settle himself on the sill by Remus' feet, leaning his back against the window and bringing his knees up. "Boring books are the leading cause of cancer, you know." A typical Sirius Statement, though not quite delivered the right way.

There's something about that frown that he doesn't like, and not just because it is indicative of a problem. Sirius never has anything to be upset over. He's free from his family, he's the essential king of Gryffindor, and he is the one that does he dumping, not any of his numerous girls that he keeps at hand. "Are you alright there mate?" Don't worry the Moony please, he gets invasive.

The sad excuse for a smile dropped at the question and he frowned again, crossing his arms over his knees and resting his chin on them. Sirius was silent a long moment, gaze focused on some distant place on the far wall as he almost seemed to curl in on himself, pulling his knees a little closer to his chest.
"My uncle Alphard died a couple nights ago."
