Mommakat,

I have things in my peripheral vision that weren't there before too.. or at least.. not so often as they are now. I'm not sure what they are, but they're there, dark spots that seem to move, and they're gone when I shift my sight. Don't know what to think.

*nods* Yes.. exactly like that. Like they (a word that makes these things sound sentient) can sense when you're about to look and flicker out of existence.

It happens to me when I'm very tired, or alone. Mine come in color, sometimes, but mostly they're just shadows.

Don't know what to think either, darling, although I tell myself that perhaps it's just my near-sightedness bringing on some odd corneal disease. But then, I'm comforted by the oddest things. *wry smile*

*nuzzles* By the by, if I don't tell you often enough, I really do love that particular petname you use for me. =^_^=

I don't have any nearsightedness.. but they do tend to be on the left side, which is the eye in the half-paralyzed side of my face. Mine are always shadows, never colored... usually up and to the left.. or directly to the left of my vision. Kind of strange.. Sometimes they seem to move like a bug flying. That's often what I think it is, is some sort of bug has gotten into the house and is flying by, but then when I look I can't find one. Grr. And it always happens in the dark. And well.. I'm almost always alone so it happens when I'm alone too. It doesn't ever happen at work.

*cuddles*

Heee. I'm fond of it too.. Mommakat just seems appropriate.. mixture of Kat and Momma from the Fantasia days :)

Gaiman Rules! crescentdreams June 20 2001, 10:32:58 UTC
It is quite a spectacular read indeed. I think I've read it through twice now. But then, Gaiman in general is pretty amazing. Stardust, The Dream Hunters, and the Sandman series are all very good. So is Good Omens (written with Terry Pratchett), actually. I really need to get his short story collections too, though.

i finished neverwhere a couple of weeks ago and when i went to the library the next time i saw that they had stardust but i didn't get it because i can't read two works by the same author so close together. just a weird thing of mine. i'll have to wait at least three months before i can read gaiman again. but i'm definitely planning to. i hear he's writing the screenplay for neverwhere so jim henson films can make it into a movie, so that's something to look forward to.

I'd heard that too (about the screenplay) and can't wait. There was a series on british television, that was on video for a while.. but I never did manage to get a copy. :/ Very sad.. but I seem to have survived.

Don't mean to be a scientific pain of a person, but after researching more of my side effects for my duc and talking to Dr. Salazar, a combination of aura, severe pin-pricking pain in your eyes, and sensitivity to light can spell inflammation (sp?) and the need for meds. So, if you ever get the combination, please be sure to check. It's one of the many inflammatory probs that I now get to look forward to. :)
