Neal sighed contently, full of good Chinese food and good memories. He was glad that he was able to help El drag Peter out for the Chinese New Year. Considering that it was the year of the dragon, he had wanted to make sure to go out himself. Being able to take Peter just meant that he didn't have to beg about getting the anklet radius changed for one night. He smiled as he saw the light on in the kitchen and went to see who was still up. "Hello," he said to June.
June smiled at seeing him. "Fun night?"
"Yes," Neal said. "I'm surprised that you and Moz didn't come with us."
"We celebrated in our own way," June said with a wave of her hand. "I'm not really up for big crowds right now anyways."
"Cold?" Neal said.
"It's just starting," June said. "I hope that I don't pass it on to you."
"I won't blame you if it happens," Neal said. "Do you want me to make you some tea?"
"No - I'm tea-ed out," June said. "I was on my way to bed but I felt like sitting for a moment. I'm glad I did - even though we both live here, I feel like I go weeks without seeing you."
"Well, you're more active than I am," Neal said.
"You should get out more," June said.
"I'll mention it to Peter," Neal said and June laughed at that.
"Oh - there was another postcard for you today," June said as she got up. "Looked like the person sending it is celebrating the new year in style."
"Lucky her," Neal said as he stood as well.
"I'll see you sometime later," June said as she made her way upstairs.
"See you," Neal said as he went over to the mail hat. He chuckled as he saw Hong Kong at night and turned it over to read what Alex wrote this time.
Hello Neal - Glad you liked the Christmas present. I hope that you didn't have to spend the New Year inside looking out. Not much to write at the moment. Here's a new number for you to call if you want - make sure the line is not bugged. Love, Alex.
Neal sighed and took it upstairs with him. He put it with the two other postcards and the nesting dolls. He decided not to call her tonight and instead just went to bed. He dreamt of China that night and bungee jumping off of the Great Wall of China for a blue colored gem.
