I have a feeling by "nonnative" they mean imported rather than born and raised in the country. No congress in their right minds would ever send cops into peoples homes to search-and-seize peoples pets. (Ignoring the fact that it's on a completely unconstitutional basis, nothing about it would be worth the time and money.)

Unless you're an exotic snake smuggler, you've got little to worry about.

you need to reread it.
importation is not the main concern.
establishing feral populations is.
which captive populations can do just as well.

now, its ludicrous as written.
and i find it doubtful it will pass as is.
but i don't think its a bad idea for everyone to shoot off an email to their congressperson.

I actually need to apologize. I needed to reread it as well. There is no proposed list yet. Depending on how comprehensive the bill is, its potentially great or heinous. Input on how the approved list is made would be very important, however, its not yet as bad as the internetz are making everyone believe.

It never is, people just love getting their panties in a bunch over Worst Possible Situations that haven't even happened yet and it spreads like wildfire. Tis both the Blessing and Curse of the Internet.
