Rant anyone?

I don't usually do this.....ok, I don't mean ranting, coz I do that a lot :-P I mean talk about politics, but this post is going to be a little political. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and tell me off if you like. There is a chance I may offend, but I'm happy to hear any comments, just don't call me names, that's getting personal and ( Read more... )

To be honest, I'm not sure where I stand on this whole situation. At the moment, I think I'm more concerned about the economic repercussions than anything -- not that I don't think your views are valid. In fact, I can definitely understand why this issue makes you so angry.

I hope you enjoy the season premiere of Supernatural! :-)

avictoriangirl filled me on some extras that I didn't know. It still baffles me that this could ever happen. I don't know if they realise that this won't just affect American if it keeps going, it's going to affect the world economy. It's not like American is small like us, what their government do has repercussions on everyone. I really hope this gets sorted soon.

I hope you enjoy the season premiere of Supernatural! :-)
Thanks!*squee* one night to go ;-)

Ok, first of all your husband doesn't know what he is talking about AT ALL. This has nothing to do with Obama. This whole thing is because a few Republican senators don't like a law passed by a previous Congress, signed by the president, and upheld by the Supreme Court, which does nothing more than give health insurance to millions of Americans who do not presently have any. The real kicker? The law was based on a proposal from a conservative think-tank and taken out on the test track in Massachusetts by a Republican governor. Can you say: WHAT. THE. FUCK? This entire thing pisses me off to no end and just makes me want to scream. *rages* (sorry for the rant)

PS. I still can't believe you're married to a Republican. *face palm* XD

Both Dean and I can WHAT. THE. FUCK?!!! Seriously? Hubby's view is that it's all because Obama won't delay the healthcare for a year. But this healthcare plan was originally a Republican idea?! How the hell does that make any sense. I'm very tempted to mention this to him, but I don't know that it's worth getting a divorce over LOL

PS. I still can't believe you're married to a Republican.
LOL, yeah, he's all God, Guts and Guns!! It's annoying and probably would be a much bigger issue if we lived in the States. His whole family, bar his big sister, are Republican. In NZ we both vote National, which would be Republican, but I lean a lot closer to Labour/Democrate than he ever would. I don't think it's such a big deal here.

Yep. Can you believe the idiocy? *shakes head* Obama is just an easy scapegoat for those people who don't dig deeper into the issue, like your husband. ;)

If you want a laugh and a creative picture of what's really going on, go read this. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Crazy, right?

And that's the crazy thing, if anyone else behaved this way at work they really would be fired! I don't think hubby has even delved into what's really going on. I'm very tempted to let him know..... maybe before drinks though ;-)

Has there been any progress? We haven't really heard anything more over here.

Ahh, I understand your frustration so much. Half my family votes primarily Republican and often it's safer to Just Not Discuss Things, but damn that gets really annoying when something important is happening.

*hugs*

SO CLOSE TO SUPERNATURAL. :D

Yeah, politics and religion are things I avoid when it comes to hubby's family. Actually, I tend to not talk to my family about it either. We never talked about either growing up, mainly because mum is a Labour supporter and a Protestant and my father is a National supporter and Catholic! It's amazing they ever got together LOL

SO CLOSE TO SUPERNATURAL
OMG, tonight!!!!!!!

LOL, I'm getting the impression that the flist are Democratic supporters :-) I'm still confused as to how a shutdown can happen though. It really shouldn't be legal at all. The fight wasn't so much a fight as a disagreement that had potential to turn into a fight if we kept going LOL I'm thinking about letting him know the real story though, he needs to know that the Republicans actually trial this healthcare successfully before deciding to be assholes.

Supernatural premiere tomorrow night!!!
OMG, it's tonight *bounces* Wednesday nights are now my favourite nights, SHIELD and SPN!!!!!
