Just a thought....

You know if Steven Hawking can admit that he is wrong about black holes, why can't anyone in the American government admit 9-11 might have been prevented ( Read more... )

on Hawking: good point. i doubt we'd even get that in thirty years though.

You know in a similar way I have this problem convincing myself I can find things in the dark. Like last night I wouldn't get out of bed to turn on the light to find my chapstick in my bedside drawer. Instead I fumbled around, grabbed what felt like a cylyndrical tube, and tried to unscrew the lid from a AA battery.

wait until our kids are in high school, and see how they rewrite it in the history books. That'll be interesting.
if there's any sanctimonious bullshit, I don't think it'll emerge until then, or possibly later.

You know I think there is like a 50 year rule before anything gets written in a history book. I can't remember a single paragraph on Vietnam or the Gulf War in any of my Highschool history classes.

I do remember Pearl Harbor being glorified as the bravest day in American History and then a few sentences on The Manhattan Project. Isn't funny how they can take a plan to construct nuclear bombs and make it sound like a retirement real estate plan?

ahhh those quirky history writers even left out Hiroshima.

But the government keeps insisting we will, eventually, find them. Or something which might eventually be made into them. Or something. It's hard to tell, Bush has flip-flopped so often on what the real issues are and why we're over there.
Cheney might have to go, whatever else happens, since he looks to be caught in the same mess Spiro Agnew got himself into. Or at least similar. That is, if our media and Congress can haul themselves out and actually do their jobs.
*cough* Sorry.

Too much sugar makes me feel sick.

It's not just that though. I guess I just think it would be great for someone to stand up in our government ans go "ya know what...we fucked up. we fired the right people. we're sorry , we are cleaning up our act."

but that wouldn't happen. This country is based so much on the idea of the individual vs. the world that we can't as a community stand up and be held accountable for our own actions.

The latest word on the weapons of mass destruction is that some guy (who the white house mentions as an unreliable source) said he told someone, who told the president. Now if that kind of logic is being used to go to war...why are any of the 9-11 alligations less probable?

I would Looooove to see Cheney held accountable for his actions. Sprio resigned if I'm not mistaken. I think Cheney would die before he did something as humble as that.

What're you talkin about cricket??? Prevented?? Not likely, unless the passengers on the plane had gotten up and tackled them. I mean really, all this freedom is based on trust. Otherwise it would've taken some serious big brother shit to prevent it from happening.

But I think we need to deal with it in a better way than just using it as an excuse to do whatever we want all over the world. Bush is really deluding himself if he thinks anyone is fooled and really believes he is some noble crusader. I mean, old people like him but they're old, before the civil rights movement and all that.

Other than that, I can't wait till november...

According to the 9-11 commissions report there are some severe and blatant warnings that found otherwise. I dunno I'm picking it up later today to see for myself ( ... )

Well, you say for a bomb threat you evacuate the building. In the case of the 9/11 terrorists what do you do? Evacuate New York, Philadelphia and the Pentagon? For how long? When can people go back to their jobs? What if the "bomb" threat isn't specific and they don't know what city is going to be hit? What do we evacuate then ( ... )

I don't think you are seeing point here. I'm not talking about a specific threat on that day. I think you took my analogy of a bomb threat literally when I am using it figuratively ( ... )

strange fact: The yamaha PM 3000C recording console, in my opinion, was not designed with future maintenance in mind. There are far too many LEDs, washers, screws and circuit boards. Come on yamaha, get with fucking program... and thanks for the overtime.

What do we use nowadays instead of LEDs, washers, screws and circuitboards?

Seriously, inquiring minds like mine want to know.
