bad lj user, bad!

- our beatiful springy weather has gone to craps. The last several weeks were hallmarked by freezing temps, and, what's that "s" word?...snow. My poor flowers have been under a sheet this whole time, and I am sure they are long gone ***tear***. I have never heard of MO getting snow in mid-April. I love snow, just not now when it is supposed to be WARM!

- Mark and Candy came over the Monday after my birthday and presented me with a cake and a gifts- a black and white picture of Zoey to put on one of living room tables, and a new game called Buzzword.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- I've watched Zoey a few times...she's 8 weeks old now . Presently, I have her Tuesdays and Thursdays, just so Candy and Mark can build up some money so I can eventually have her all week. This week was our first "real" week, as this was the first week Candy went back to work. It's going ok. It will take some time for me to figure out bottle timing and all of that while having Gavin. It is quite a balance handling two young ones. When I am not feeding one, I am changing the other. When one is making a mess, the other is crying. You don't get too much of a break. I do try to have my babies' needs caught up and content before Ky and Kon come home so I can make sure to give them the attention they deserve. We do pretty well. I am proud of myself, and it gives me hope as a mother (even though I KNOW no experience will ever compare to motherhood).

- Grandpa Fred mailed me a very special birthday present...the Psalms and New Testament HIS grandma gave to him when he was baptized. It is so old and frail...she even wrote in it. I thought it was so neat that Grandpa wanted me to have something so meaningful and unique. It is displayed behind the glass in our entertainment center.

- My mother-in-law's dog Sophie went over to Lisa's Friday 3/30 to have her pups, and gave birth by c-section the next Monday. Sophie died Tuesday. It was almost the worst thing that could have happened...almost. My mother-in-law was absolutely crushed when Stephen, Lisa, Janine, and I came over to her house to break the news. Sophie was suffering from a fatty liver, a condition that would have killed her eventually if it hadn't been for the pregnancy rapidly progressing it. She gave birth to three pups (two boys and one girl), all of which have been fed by hand every 2-4 hours since their mommy's death. They are growing well and will survive! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9RckPsRd74

- We spent Easter Eve at Mom's and Easter Day at Dad's. It was fun, as usual. At mom's, we ate hamburger soup and broke out Buzzword. Stephen added more RAM to Mom's laptop, and then we went to bed. Stan let us in on some interesting news: Jason and Dollie are pregnant, and due in late November. I was really excited, but jealous. I hate that I feel like that, but when will it be our turn? Will it EVER be our turn? So I went to bed with that on my mind, and by morning, the icky feelings had withered away. We went to the late Easter service and ate breakfast in the Fellowship Hall beforehand.
Stephen had an embarrassing experience on his way to getting a second-helping at breakfast. As he walked away from our table, I noticed he had an EXTREMELY large tear in the butt of his jeans---at least 6 inches in length. As he walked, you would get glimpses of his tighty whities. I called out his name and motioned frantically for him to get back to the table and fast. I whispered in his ear about the tear, and told him to sit his butt down NOW. Instead, he tried to twist around to see the tear, allowing everyone to see from every direction....:)! So...between breakfast and church, we ran to Walmart to buy him some new pants. Scurrying out of the church required some strategy, but we made it. He changed his clothes in the car, and was as good as new!
We got over to Dad's about 1 and the family had just started eating. Grandma made her FANTASTIC mac n cheese....the huge crock pot was scraped clean within 20 minutes. All of my cousins' kids have grown so much...especially Drew. He's two now, and the last I saw of him was a few days after his birth. Jennifer is pregnant again ( 4-5 months along I think). Brenda's baby is a month younger than Gavin, and she can't sit up by herself, or come close to crawling. This concerns me...she seems way behind in development. She's a doll though. We flew kites, had massive Easter egg hunt, and watched videos we made that day on dad's tv. My siblings and I participated in a small photo shoot for Mom. My hair is tousled by the wind, but Mom will really like the pictures. We left about 6:30 and took Erika home with us for the week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gH_d9vOfBBc

So this updates me up to this last week.

I had a dentist appointment early Monday morning...yuck. I got through it fine (only a few tears were shed), but I have to go back next Monday to fill in a tiny cavity. I didn't have any kids Monday, so Erika and I lazed around and played the Sims 2. Erika created the hottest sim ever. I played my polygamist family (up to five kids now) and began creating a new one. For supper I made homemade chicken strips, roasted potatoes and onions, and peas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBtG9FG5feA

Tuesday, I had Zoey and Gavin all day and my boys in the afternoon. I was going nonstop all day long and by the end of the day I was COMPLETELY drained (and hot). For supper we went out to El Torro with Elaine, and went over to her house so she could teach me how to feed the puppies. Since I wasn't going to have Gavin or Zoey the next day, we took the puppies home with us so Elaine could have a break. We fed them at 10pm, 1am, 4 am, and 6:30 am.

Wednesday, We were looking forward to having until 3pm to catch up on sleep, but then I got a call at 9am that Lisa was on her way over with puppies from another litter so she could use the heating pad in the Sophie's puppies' bed. She stayed until 1. So...yeah...we didn't get much sleep at all. I only had Kyler in the afternoon (thankfully), and then Erika and I happily took the pups back over to Elaine's. We ate Dominoes for dinner and watched Little Miss Sunshine (OUTSTANDING movie!)...then Erika vomited for the first time. A few minutes later, she vomited for the second time. She vomited all night long. Great.

So yesterday, I had no kids due to Erika having the flu. Mom got here 2ish and we took her to a doctor in town. Erika was yellowy-green, weak, and dehydrated. The doctor experience was...bizarre to say the least. She didn't listen well, and directed her words at me, instead of mom. She and the nurse taking care of Erika were total stiffs. They even sent my sister home totally dehydrated...you would think they would stick an IV in her to give her a headstart on her fluids. Mom and I did not leave with a good feeling. Mom is getting a second opinion today from Erika's regular doctor back home. They did give her a shot of some medication that soothed her stomach...it definately helped because she was finally able to sleep.
Mom took her home after our salad and chicken strips dinner.

Today, I have no kids...again. Gavin is home with dad, who is home from work sick, and Kim thought I still had Erika, so she sent Kyler and Konner to her niece's for the day. I am actually glad I don't have kids. I need a nice chunk of time to get stuff done and have "me" time. To do stuff like update my lj, and wash the flu germs out of everything my sister touched.
