I believe i went through multiple stages of denial, resulting in the conclusion that truth to him was the only therapy :P I'm happy it had my desired effect of 'if the feeling isn't mutual, then i want to get over it' but also that it didn't change our friendship.
I'm not too worried about getting to talk to him and see him still.. It'll just be longer between visits than i had been used to. But if nothing else, Marte and i could always kidnap him ;D
I felt this way when my best friend had moved away to chicago, it was so painful and so hard, and it broke my heart in two, but I had to stay strong and keep a smile so that it wouldn't be harder on him. someone who I spent every possible moment with, that there was not a day that I did not see him, was leaving... forever... sure you can visit and he can visit you, but it's not the same.
every year I would go visit him, that would be my birthday gift from my parents, but once a year and the phone calls never seemed enough, it wasn't the same.
but I will tell you, that it has been 3 years since he has moved and even if we have not spoken much, even if we haven't spoken in almost a year - seeing him or talking on the phone he was the same person as before he left and everything picked right up where it was left off.
I'm glad he is only an hour away.. And i am sure with some time i will get used to him not being around all the time. I survived without him when everyone went home during school breaks. Time is just passing slowly right now :/

Don't fret too much. The internet helps people stay together, and with as close as you guys are, I'm sure you will have chances to visit eachother.
