After I had my fill with forms to file and have notarized, I did a little weeding in the yard to relieve stress. It started with cutting and bundling up the 4 foot high dried-up ornamental grass which resides next to where I park. ohhh, bamboo...
yeah, we have that problem too. Thankfully, instead of attacking a flower bed, it's slowly taking over the dead area under a pine tree.

Give it time; in our climate zone Bamboo roots will grow as much as three feet underground a year and can grow at least 8 inches below the surface.

My mom thought it was pretty back when it was a little planting but now it crowds and chokes all other root structures and plants in the garden. You might as well get rid of it now while it is still small and easy to remove.

Spending 4 hours digging out 15 feet of Bamboo root from under the lawn will make any person loath evasive rhizomes.
