In the fall I started reading this series. I got to In A Dry Season (which I loved) and got a bit distracted (by Ian Rankin and John Harvey). I agree that each novel gets better and better. I like Banks. I'm hoping to get back to the series next month. I want to see what happens with him and Annie Cabot.

Rankin is another favorite - I have 3 more left until I've finished the Rebus series :)

Banks is the kind of guy you can get behind; far from perfect, but someone who does his best. I actually started with "Piece Of My Heart", and loved it, so decided to go back to the beginning and work my way through.

That's why I like Banks a lot too. I plan on getting back to the series in a few weeks. I want to see what happens next.

Rebus is most excellent IMO. He's my second fave detective after John Harvey's Charlie Resnick.
