i have decided to quit my job.

i am not unemployed, nor have i even handed in my letter of resignation yet. i've given myself a date: two weeks from now. it isn't a bad job for people who can take call centre work (in fact, it's excellent for people who can take call centre work), but i'm not one of them. the workplace is great and the people who ( Read more... )

oh dude, if the equipment is from us, fair enough. like if someone has a busted iiNet modem, of course we're going to replace it ASAP (similar to if you just bought a car and it broke down-- of course the dealer would need to get right on that). but there's a lot of things out of our control-- like the infrastructure, which isn't owned by us but is leased from telstra, who doesn't like anyone touching their gear except them. i understand the frustration, but some people will yell and demand, not realizing that it gets them nowhere. unlike some companies out there who genuinely do not care, we actually DO care, so it's not like we're just sitting here stubbornly going "nope, not gonna help you". when someone's demanding i fix something i have no control over, i'm literally squirming in my seat in AGONY because i have to say no, and i hate doing so, and it's the LAST thing i want to say and someone's yelling at me as if it's all my fault ( ... )

I was just thinking about you! Was wondering what you've been up to in the last month. It's good that you've taken it into your own hands and are deciding to quit before the customers get to you. You should really go for a more creative job anyway. Hope to catch you sometime soon then, maybe after I get back from Malaysia/Singapore.

I'll keep an ear out for job stuff. You might want to talk to Ayano (Koh's gf) because she's in graphic design and might have some contacts in creative work. I've also got a friend Yuhan (keldaryth) who's just published a book and is working on some new writing if you're interested in looking into writing.

I'm leaving for Malaysia on Wednesday night and am coming back on Dec 21. But then I'll be heading off to Gippsland with YK from Dec 23-26. If you are free after that, we should chill! Are you coming for my birthday at yj282's?

thanks so much, i'd really appreciate that. i'll do anything, even if it's admin/data entry in a creative field. i'm definitely into writing; spent an hour tonight chilling and scribbling in bed, haha.

sounds awesomesauce! i want to but the YKs scare me, you know that. XD;
