yesterday, driving back from a weekend visit with jakki in angwin, i decided i'd take the back way. the weather was great and i just didn't feel like ruining it by driving down 80 at 75 mph, especially because i've seen that every inch of that freeway so many times it isn't even remotely intesting anymore ( Read more... )

That is another movie I've yet to see... really need to get caught up on those....

Much of the danger in riding bikes comes from the fact that you have to ride as though you are invisible. Cars will push you right out of your lane before noticing you were ever there. However, bikers also need to follow basic safety rules. It drives me nuts when I'm stuck in traffic and a bike comes speeding up between the lanes of cars. GAH!

To me, the absolute freedom of riding on a long winding road on a crisp sunny day more than makes up for the danger factor. Got my license... just gotta save up the money for my Honda Shadow! Ride on! RAWR! ;)

oh god i know. i was looking at shadows last night. they're so damn hot.

yeah if i ever did ride it wouldn't be on the damn freeway. sure lane splitting is a nice priviledge (it IS legal) but i think riding on the freeway and in the city as little as possible is the best course of action. :/

Heh, yeah and they won't fall apart like Harleys. ;)

Gah, it's nerve-wracking enough to drive a car on some of these freeways. All the best bike rides are out in the country anyway... fucking awesome. Dude. I need a bike NOW.
