Pet!

Ok so Jakki & I want a pet. We definitely want to get a pet through an adoption agency of some sort, and I we'd like it to be a young animal that wouldn't get too large. That said, we haven't made the decision yet on whether to get a puppy (of a breed that wouldn't grow too large) or a kitten ( Read more... )

I voted for kitten, but it's actually a tough call. It depends on where you're going to live, how much time you'll spend away from your house/apartment, how much energy you'll have when you are home, etc. Cats are usually very low maintenance and don't mind if you're not home as much. They just sleep all day anyway. And when you are home, you don't have to take them out on walks or try to train them or anything.
But if you're living in a decent-sized place and don't mind a little extra work, dogs are more fun.

go for the kitten if you don't think you are going to be home that much.... puppies need a lot of care.

But whatever you get, I want to come up and pet it and love it...hehe

cats seem to respond more to disciplinary techniques and such the way children do. so it will be good practice. at least that has been kalyn's and my experience with our kitty and doggy.
