Damn it.
I'm damn near close to reaching the finish line. I'm supposed to be celebrating, rejoicing, graduating.
But noooo. Our Overall Coordinator for Related Learning Experience (aka Dudty), decided to withhold our candidacy for deliberation ergo graduation, by imposing upon us that fucking policy.
The one that decided to test how much do we know about the required PRC cases that we've done and shit. Ugh. I guess if it's getting confusing, PRC cases are what those in the Medical course are required to complete before they can take their respective Licensure Examination. In my case, Nursing's.
I have to finish 5 Deliveries Handled +5 Deliveries Assisted+ 5 Cord Care. These can be accomplished by delivering newborns in the DR of the Hospital, Lying In's/Birthing Clinics in the rural area. You'd have to do it by yourself, only with little assistance by the Clinical Instructor. But yeah, all the dirty work and blood you'd have to do it yourself. (and a partner).
I'm done with all that. It's the Surgeries that I'm worrying about.
For there's also these 2 completion cases called, Minor and Major Surgeries that we have to complete in the OR of a hospital before we can take our Board Examinations.
Luckily, I'm finished with all that. The problem is we'd have to defend all those cases.
it'd be fine and dandy if it weren't the fact that it's ONLY our DAMN SCHOOL who's really that picky and meticulous over that sort of things.
We have to defend what incision was done (transverse, ___cut), what needle used, how many organs were tinkered with and damn it. She fucking feels like we're MEDICINE students when we AREN'T!
We're nursing students persistent douche! We know interventions and the rationale, can deliver accidental babies in some rural, grassy area but WE AREN'T MED students who know how many staplers are needed to completely close a wound in some nth cm deep. With these weirdly style of suturing in that blah style of needle and shit.
Really, do I have to and differentiate how many cm's did the Surgeon measure the ___muscle in the Mastoid area before cutting off the Vagus nerve and permanently incapacitating the patient for life??!?!?
Not even the Junior Interns are familiar with what you're asking!! And we're just students!
Also, you're so damned picky over what surgery to do and shit, that you completely forgor to GIVE the students the LIST on what's considered Major and Minor cases for Surgeries.
Major Surgeries are those surgeries involving General Anesthesis. Minor Surgeries are those like Circumcision, Wound Dressing and those wounds or cuts that need suturing.
Damn it! I'm so near....why'd you have to be such a bitch?
Not even the other Nursing schools are doing this. They just finish the cases and pass it to the Regulatory Commision. And Voila! Chance to take Board exam.
FML.
