Low blood sugar. Like, when a person eats, their body sends out too much insulin to process the sugar and the blood sugar level drops.
This website mentioned some symptoms that applied to me, like irritability before meals, need to eat throughout the day, sudden hunger, cold hands and feet, mood swings, dizziness, insatiable cravings for carbs...it's probably exacerbated by the funky eating schedule of a college student, but I get hungry and crabby so quickly that I thought I'd check it out. Basically, the solution is to eat things that are low in simple sugars and high in protein, fat, and complex carbs.
Hmm, that does seem to match the Ally I know! I also need to eat little meals throughout the day, but I don't get the mood swings you do. Have you ever gotten your blood sugar tested? I did mine for free last year at a health fair (where Alexa initially found out about her high blood sugar). It's pretty easy, I didn't even faint!
Hell, I don't even have plans for tomorrow, let alone next year.
So far, I've basically been coasting along by occasionally looking at information about teaching or volunteer opportunities that would allow me to do more traveling. Then I write something about it in LJ from time to time in order to give the impression that I'm actually doing something constructive with my time.

Boo to the bad! (Alexa is hypoglycemic, I think. High blood sugar, right? She has high blood sugar.)

I wonder how long I can fake it?
