Grad School Begins

Sep 04, 2007 22:48

I've been meaning to do a post about arriving in New Haven and starting grad school. Now, of course, it's the day before classes start and I have so much to do that this is a seeming impossibility. But, in the name of procrastination,( I will do it! )

Yay!! I'm glad it's going well! You are going to knock their socks off!

I have been looking more at grad schools myself and have even found some that have only calc and stats for math requirements AND have funding for MA students. This is at once a "Yay!" and a "Darn!" because I thought I had everything all figured out. This makes my take time off decision so much more complicated!

I know... but what will I do for that time? Seems like if I get a job that I like, I would hate to leave after a year. And why get a job I don't like? Will I be able to get a job that interests me without a masters? I don't want to have a boring job!

I was just wondering about you! So glad you posted, and I'm glad you got there safe and sound. I'll just say I'm d rooling over your ability to take a class with Blight - and even the possibility of one with Meyerowitz!

I hope classes start off well - good luck! And, CONGRATS on the wedding date!
