The Detective

I do not pity you, not one bit.

You are the people who need to know everything, who needs to understand everything. And that’s where the torture lies.

Unfortunately, understanding does not come easy. It usually doesn’t come at all in some ways. No one can truly always know what someone else is thinking. But the detective craves that knowledge.

It’s what keeps them from letting things go completely. They may be able to forgive, but never forget. Not because they don’t understand that people change, that people make mistakes and that’s the way life goes. Someone can be so sorry, and they can believe it so thoroughly...

But they can’t understand. They can’t go inside their head and see what they were thinking in that very moment.

A detective needs to put a situation together piece by piece. Needs to know exactly what’s going on all the time. Every conversation, every thought, every action that could help explain.

Sometimes they can. Detectives usually are pretty good at piecing things together, being able to understand some people. It’s a beautiful defense mechanism if you don’t too caught up in it...Which detectives have a habit of doing.

And as was said, one cannot understand everything. And even when you do, sometimes it sucks. So then you end up ticked off and wanting to understand even more. Which isn’t possible.

So advice to the Detectives?

Ugh, find something that can make it nicer...?

Just be content that what is, is and all is better? (If it is...can’t speak for everyone)

Other than that...I got nothing.
