Ugh!! God is in the little things, that's what I think. If he's afraid of some paganistic ritual going on in his own house, by his own family, and that makes him uncomfortable, then that's something I think you two ought to respect. But at the same time, he ought to respect your beleifs (seeing as it's SPIRITUAL, and that is so harmless) while you're respecting his. Hmph.
So be sure to do this ritual sometime when he's not in the house!

Yeah, I'm all for respecting people and their beliefs. And I concur, God is supposed to be in everything. He (or she) could be the very thing that put this idea in mom's head. Pfft.
