"Shut the hell up! Here I am helpin' ya outta kindness and all ya can do is complain?! Ya damn dickhead!"

"What are you so upset about?" The second voice ( Read more... )

I was wondering if you were going to get hit.

[she has a vague feeling of dread hearing all this, and she has a tiny suspicion why]

Oh?

[A sort response for someone like Crimson, but the first two voices are familiar, the first one dredging up slight whispers of guilt while the second is associated with amusement and perhaps even a little bit of pride. He was the captain of some sort of division, one associated with research if this and his dream had anything to say about it. Vaguely, he wondered if this had anything to do with the red-dyed figures he'd seen in his dream.]

What do you think of this then?

It's hard to say.

[When everyone's listening, that is]

Although, I'll say your lieutenant sounds rather mouthy.

Souls again. You think they were trying to tell us something.

Do you know what a gigai is?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if souls exist~

[It is, after all, not an unfamiliar-feeling concept to him.]

And no, unfortunately I don't. Do you?

[Aside from gathering the fact that a gigai is a human-formed container that a soul could be transferred into. And presumably out of. And he assumes that Genius is smart enough to be able to inference that.]

Yes yes. Man-friend I've had this discussion like five times this week. Don't you think it's suspicious that the Powers That Be are making this the moral of the month?

Not a clue. Some sort of tech?

Also what's "Kiss-su-ke"? Is that you, bucket hat?

Maybe... But then I might have an existential crisis and need ice cream from a friend to deal with all the angst~! And the new terms, there seems to be quite a lot of them for me to muddle my way through.

And yes, it would seem that my name is indeed Kisuke~

[Which he'd already known, thanks to Bastet telling him. But it seemed like he still can't hear his family name. A pity, but not important.]

I like her too! She reminds me a little of Soi Fong-san~!

[If you use his name, he gets to use yours too, right? Right!]

I was just trying out how it sounds. I'm still going to call you Crimson. And you're still going to call me Lin. Or not call me at all.

And no, she doesn't. But it seems to me that she had you figured out pretty well.

Maa... She'd have to, wouldn't she? I was, after all, her captain, Soi Fong-san~!
