so sad

You know what's sad? When you go to put together recs for a fandom and realize that all the stories that you want to rec (which haven't already been recced in one forum or another) are your own.

Authors, oh authors, won't you come back to NCIS fandom?

You know that running joke on the show, about how nobody knows what NCIS is or what they do? I get the same thing every time I mention the show to someone.

Personally, I've been writing like a mad person this past month, most of it in NCIS. However, I have trouble writing non-crossovers (and in this fandom, anything but gen) - and from what I can tell, NCIS fandom doesn't really take to that. But then, I just found the ncisfanfic journal, so maybe I'll start posting my tth100 ficlets there, too.

(Though, if you want to off Martin Gero, be my guest - I'll be your alibi.)

I don't mind the hijacking! But I don't mind the ficcish apology, either. *g* I left a wee feedback over on the ficcish post.

Glad you enjoyed. :)

Besides, I have to stay in your good graces somehow or you might one day wise on to me tire of me... and that'd just be tragic! ;P

You know what would really get you in my good graces right now? Hot Fuzz fic! Even a sweet, plotless drabbble.

Me, take advantage? Nooooooooo. *grins* Although I really should keep you happy so that you're still willing to be saddled with future centaur betas. *g*

Speaking of which, I should start working on M&R 15, so that it doesn't take six months to write. It's a long one, so the earlier I start, the better. But I really would like to finish TNYC 9 first... It is coming along, at least. I think I've gotten through the sticky part that was keeping my renewed progress to a couple of paragraphs a day, at least. I hope. *knocks on wood*

I won't go into the state of NCIS at the moment, but I will say 'Yay, centaurs!'. I don't know if I ever reviewed or not

You did leave feedback!

I suspect at this point people are reading my NCIS fic in spite of the fandom and not because of it.

And then there's that wonderfully long Stargate/NCIS fic written by a Sentinel author,

Are you talking about 'Stardust' by Kikkimax (aka Roxie)??

Yep, that's the one! ;P I became a fan of Kikkimax's way back in the day when she started writing gen TS fics, so even though she (initially) tried hiding the fact that she was also writing slash under the "Roxie" pseudonym, a lot of us could still tell it was her. Her writing style is quite distinctive, and a pure joy to read no matter what she's doing. ;)

Really? I thought it had gotten popular enough to limit the "NCI-what?" reaction from people. But then, I haven't been talking to anyone about it lately, so I guess I wouldn know. *sheepish*

I do understand the fun of crossovers. I've written more than a few myself. They've always gotten decent reaction for me, though. I confess, I haven't been reading much of your NCIS fic, but not because it's crossovers. I don't read much outside of slash fandom, and you write mostly gen, as far as I can tell.

(Though, if you want to off Martin Gero, be my guest - I'll be your alibi.)

Sweet! It's a plan. *snerk*

Then again, most of my friends/people I talk to, are massive computer geeks. (I mean, enourmous geeks.) Though...

Last week when I went home to help my parents move, my dad was trying to impress upon me the awesomeness that is Abby. I just boggled.

(I don't think he would like her as much, if I'd actually ended up going into forensics - he'd be all 'my daughter does that better'. I love my dad! *g*)

This reminds me of my chat with my Dad a couple of weeks ago about Numb3rs. He was going on about how Don was his favorite character. Since Don is my favorite, too--but almost no one else's--I was tickled pink. *g*
