My thoughts on the episode 2/16 Roadkill...

Apparently, people haven't liked this episode that much, but I have to say I loved the whole idea/interpretation of Sam and Dean as Reapers. Because even if they both are still on the side of the living (more or less), that is what they in fact are, Reapers or Ferrymen, every time they burn bones and release the ghosts and in this episode moreso as they helped Molly to accept she was dead and that she finally had to let go, the same way the Reaper was with Dean in IMTOD.

I loved the conversations Sam had with Molly. I loved Sam telling her "my father said it was like death for ghosts", because it made me think of wee!Sammy asking all these question from his Daddy. I loved Dean calling Sam the "Walking Encyclopedia of the Weird". I liked how Tricia played Molly, and I liked the outsider POV to the boys and what they do. With tiny changes, the action and excitement could have been upped a notch, and most people probably guessed Molly was a spirit too, very early on, but I only realized when they parked at the house. I'm a bit slow most of the time, I guess.

The episode was sad, oddly beautiful, and very quiet, but I enjoyed it much more than I would have thought based on the trailer. And next week, based on the trailer I'm already in love with the ep! LOL

As an extra post-episode reading, I'd rec Maygra's Reaper series (scroll down a little and you'll find the links) where Sam is turned into a Reaper for real. It's nothing like Roadkill, but a great read if you like the concept as I did.
