You guys need to look at the bright side of stuff here. The Canucks had a hell of a season, especially involving the issue surrounding Bertuzzi at the end of it. They beat out Colorado at the end of the season, winning 6 straight, and got the division title for the first time in many a year. They pushed Calgary (not an easy team) as far as the first round can possibly go using their 3rd string goaltender and without arguably the best member of their team. And finally, the Canucks have proved to everyone that they have the drive and determination to be an elite team in the league. Just because they didn't pass the first round this year doesn't mean that they aren't better than that... just look at Detroit.
The Canucks had a great season, and hopefully IF hockey is still around next year, they'll be able to build upon their successes.
this isnt like last yearkmadApril 20 2004, 14:14:03 UTC
we KNEW the Canucks were gonna have a great season and make it to the first round of the playoffs. we're taking that for granted by now. we knew they were an elite team after last year, and that they just needed to show some drive in the playoffs. they failed to do that again.
Adrian, I do look on the bright side of things. But I also like to weigh both in account, being the kind of person I am. I like to analyze both sides of the situation.
Oh, but I do. It seems to me that you enjoy to dwell on the sadder side of things a little more... but that could just be my perspective/position. Yes, yes, I know the internet doesn't give a fair representation of what people are actually like, but I call it as I see it.
Sure there's a bright side, the Canucks did a decent job when you take into consideration who they were without.
And YES! WE BEAT THE AVS!!!!!! XD
But the fact remains that, much like Detroit last year (if you don't mind me making this comparison), we were beaten out of the playoffs by a lesser team. With or without Bertuzzi and our injury prone goalie, the Canucks are a better team than the Flames. All it came down to was a hot goaltender and the fact that Calgary wanted it more.
Jeez, we've sure seen a lot of that this season, no? Our Canucks just haven't played like they really can for any consistent time this season (excluding that awesome run at the end of the regular season)... *sigh* Maybe next year will be different.
Is it just me, or does it seem like we WILL have a different team next year? :( ... if there is indeed a next year...
