if you're going to go see your favorite band from high school, you might as well go with your brother and sister (also big fans), see two opening bands including bluegrass, and get tickets in the middle of the fourth row, center section. SO EXCITED!

already since driving my rented chevy malibu here yesterday i had a lovely meal with my parents, a fabulous night with megan, julian, debbie & co (including pets), three hours of sleep and now i'm catching up with nancy before going to matt's show with my brother tonight. oh it is good good good!

i looked up "dorkus" and "weirdo" in my personal dictionary today, the definitions are strikingly similar and i identify with both:

"dorkus": one who wakes up in the middle of the night and loses sleep worrying about something that will largely be resolved by 11 am.

"weirdo": one who generally freaks out and worries when s/h/ze doesn't have to.

is all i have to say about making the most of my teaching time in ithaca, for the second summer. sometime this week we hope to be kicking back with a few beers atop her friend's boat, listening to the waves on the lake as the sun sets.
