Thanks for the heads-up -- it's a great follow-up to last week's #scifichat discussion on Twitter about disability in SF. I've tweeted the link and hope some of the authors who participated in that discussion will consider entering.

I wrote a blog of my own as a counterpoint to Sarah's essay, talking about the need for changes in society as well as in access if we are to really move forward to a world in which we are equal, and about how SF so often fails the Kobayashi Maru test when it comes to depictions of disability. Which is a criticism that really applies to treatment of disability in pretty much any genre or medium.

Am here via dwgism via that contest via...Twitter, I think. It's got me writing something other than a blog post for the first time all year and I'm really getting into it. (Also I found another few disability blogs--including this one--via it, and that's always good for a budding disability activist.)
