Hello there, FBI.

You wanna know why everone hates us (America)? Among other things, its because we're such big hypocrits. Telling Iran they will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons, granted they are goin crazy talking about ethnic cleansing or something, then telling India that we will give them nuclear technologies. Justifying it by saying that Iran harbours ( Read more... )

Bush isn't the only President to pull shit like this. He is the only one(so far) who hasn't had at least one posotive result.

"We only get one Earth. We only get one life, lets live it to the full extent. "

Acording to Star Treck we get an infinite amount of Earths
Acording to mann spiritualists we get a maximum of seven lives a minimum of one.

Good news though Canada is one plane ride away. (Australia is at least two but their goverment is worse than America but the kangaroo based currency kind of keeps them out of world forign afairs most of the time)

I also agree deeply with your statement of how people live to destroy our earth rather than bettering it. It's all such a confusing world of all these contrasting cultures and it's hard to figure out how it's all going to ever come together just to experience the whole aspect of "peace" and good will for life. I feel as if we're living in the worst stage; kind of like how all the countries are acting as if they're 12 within their politics, back stabbing each other, yet whispering and buddying up to the other. Kind of sad when we can now relate our political world to our sixth grade drama.

realllllly sad

Well, I agree with your frustration, but you're slightly off-base on some of your ideas.

I hope the draft is reinstated. As it stands, poor people are being sent to war because they have to sign up with the Guard or the Army if they want to go to college. If the draft is reinstated, then we won't have to deal with their socio-economic bullshit.

"4th amendment to the constitution is protection against illegal searches and seizures." True, but what they're doing is not illegal. Due to the Patriot Act, which is currently dying in Congress, it's perfectly legal to search your house if they think you are pursuing terrorist motives. And why not? They'd get the warrant anyway. They're the feds.

And, finally, nuclear technologies is way, way different than nuclear warheads. You can use nuclear methods to make stuff other than warheads. Plus, Iran never said they had WMDs. Bush told the American public they did so we'd freak out and support the war effort, aka his way of finishing what his daddy couldn't.

No, the searches and seizures are not illegal. The Patriot Act, while vile and unnecessary, lets them search without a warrant. I hate what they're doing, and I love that you hate it, too, but I want you to be able to hold your own in a debate against the war.

Maybe you can persuade someone with your vast knowledge. =)

I haven't read into all of that too deeply, so sorry if any of my information is a little off.
But I haven't heard of the ethnic cleansings going on in Iran, Sudan though is another story. Our greatest failure as a country will leaving Africa to handle that alone. Iran has had hostile responses to the UN demanding information on their nuclear activity, and now they've released statements saying that America is vulnerable to destruction and other such shady comments. If the situation is as dangerous as the media makes it appear, then I think it's America's responsibility to prevent nuclear disaster and I think that's what we're trying to do. Giving India nuclear technology might not mean giving them the power to destory a country, plus we really just need good relations with them. And Americans don't actually have a constitutional right to privacy.
