omg who forgets they have a test?! i woke up late and was like hmm maybe i wont go to stats because i more or less hate it. so i call katie and shes like yeah im not going. so im like well i'll use this time to write my history paper. then i look at the syllabus to see what i'll be missing and its says midterm 3 and im like fuck! i had no idea

Did that in grad school. I showed up for my Research Methods final the day after the final. I wrote it down on the wrong day on my calendar, and somehow never realized it in spite of the prof repeating the date information multiple times in class. I showed up in the office of the professor I was grad assistant to on the day I thought I had the final, and off-handedly mentioned to him that I needed to leave at x time to go take my research methods final. He said, "You have Dr. Losee, right? I think that final was yesterday." I swore it wasn't, until the prof I worked for called Dr. Losee...and the final had in fact been the day before. Fortunately, the two were very good friends and the prof I worked for could see me freaking out and in tears in his office and knew I wasn't faking it, so I was allowed to take the final the following morning before I flew home. So...my ass was saved.

See? Every stupid thing you do, someone else has done before you. :)
