It hasn't worked out for me to stay at my brothers' apartment in Highland Springs because their dog makes me asthmatic. Now I'm staying at my parents' new place in the boonies ( King William county ). I may try to get a job out there and work untill I can move into the city. I hear about these types of lawsuits everyday at work.
And it's a bullshit lawsuit your parents are facing. In the real estate industry it's up to the buyers discretion whether or not a whole house inspection is done. As they would be the ones who sign off on the overall condition of the structure. There more than likely should also be terms in the sales contract against things like coming after the sellers for unknown issues. A "as is, where is, how is" clause.

I think it'll be okay, but even if they beat it they'll have to shell out alot for legal fees, so it's lose lose.

i was hired by the Richmond airport's UPS operation in March or so of '03. ended up turning it down 'cause the person who'd promised me a place to stay (for a few weeks, till i got on my - how you say? - "feet") pulled out. i might've ended up hating the place based solely on personal circumstance, stuff that has nothing t'do with the City itself. others have great affection for it, like a broken toy.
