[Raven is sitting on the grass in the back yard of House 12, looking at a large patch of fire lilies that have grown. He knew he must've planted them at some point in the past, because they had always reminded him of her. It was still strange to see so many growing in what was otherwise a relatively empty garden.]Ya know, with Jack showin' up again ( Read more... )

It's not a crime to be homesick or sit by yourself speaking to flowers.

Yes, you could say that. [If only he could tell Raven that these strange flowers were from his dream, but instead he says something else.] Many things from my...world are like that.

Ya mean your world is full of backwards things? Stuff that shouldn't make sense, but does?

That's true to a certain extent, though it's rather difficult to explain.

Try me! It's not as though I haven't been thinkin' of complicated stuff all day.

If you can believe me when I say this... My world is actually a dream I had, yet it became its own actual reality separated from my mind.

[He thinks hard before replying.]

If 'your world' is a dream ya had, then it isn't your world. The world where yer asleep is your home world?

It's much easier for me to say that the dream world is my home, even if...the world outside of my dream is my home world.

Ya prefer livin' in the dream world then? What about those from the real one? Your family, your friends?

It is not that I prefer living in the dream world, per say. It's that...the people there were my friends and I cared for them. [He sighs.] The only family I have left in the real world home are my mother and two sisters, but...times make it hard for me to see them. As for friends, I truly have no one I can really call a friend back home in the real world.

Do ya think that dream world you created might've been some sort of escape for you?

[ voice ] refinedmaestro July 13 2011, 22:27:00 UTC
Actually it happened when I was...upon my deathbed.

[ voice ] crisis_rain July 13 2011, 22:30:22 UTC
But if you died, then wouldn't that dream world go disappearin' too?

[ voice ] refinedmaestro July 13 2011, 23:01:01 UTC
Truth be told, I...did not die. [He's not sure how to explain the rest.

You said you were on yer death bed, right? So that means ya hadn't died yet.

Yes, this is very true. It's just that things got rather complicated.
